The domain speaks for itself. The main challenge is price as outbound marketing by default means the contact was not looking to buy your domain.

How often do you make a major purchase as a result of an unsolicited email from some company you have never heard of offering a mediocre product at an inflated price? Many of these emails end up in spam folders and are never read but this week I received a response to a Facebook message I had sent six years ago.

I need an outbound followup to an outbound where there was no replies. I want to slash the price in half.

The no reply is your answer. I suggest you move on. Desperate spamming does not work.

I don't see it as spam though it is unsolicited mail.

I am offering something the prospect may need.

I am still searching

Any outbound prospect does not need your domain. You are contacting them because you need money to pay renewal bills. They were managing ok without your domain. Most end users do not place much value on domain names and will settle for reg fee options and then spend many thousands of dollars on SEO services, Google Adwords, lead generation programs, and all kinds of traditional marketing - billboards, radio, TV, etc to make up for an inferior domain. They just don't get it but that is why we were able to more easily acquire domains. There are a relatively limited number of individuals registering domains for resale. However, with all the extensions available end users now find it much easier to come up with reg fee options without having to consider aftermarket domains. Yes at an aggregate level there are sales but industrywide it is likely less than one percent annually of the average portfolio. Implications - don't keep renewing low-quality domains. Don't load up on domains with premium renewals. Be realistic about sales prices because there are fewer end user buyers than we are led to believe by sales reports.

Send a letter by snail mail. Address it to the person or persons at the company concerned that you think would be the person/s who would decide on such matters. (Even though a secretary might read the letter before 'filing it' rather than pass it on to the addressee there is a greater chance than sending an email that will likely be unceremoniously automatically just sent to the spam folder.)

Of course send an email first, it is cheaper and quicker, but as the next move do not bother with a second unsolicited email but send a hardcopy letter would be my advice.
