Maybe some good news for the .CA aftermarket?
Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario) did a post about it.

“Today Ontario and Canada are launching the $2,500 small business grant program through Digital Main Street to further assist small businesses to get online and expand e-commerce following COVID-19.”

I’m curious if that means that they only have $2500 to help get them online including the cost of the domain name if they don’t already have one.

To me it looks like $2500 for domain, hosting, website creation, etc. and that's if you qualify on their very narrow criteria.

Whales
BackAlley
RedApple
YVC
Bumpers

I'd probably go with Whales as my top pick.

P.S. I had a total of 5-6 picks on my list - just a terrible TBR.

Even when TBR list is this bad I still find "winners" to backorder. Self harm is real:)

If I subscribed to DomainRecap's TBR mining I would be looking at a bankruptcy process:)

Crazy stuff - MyID grabbed 11 out of the top 13 picks and the top pick was CatholicChurch.ca followed by Whales.ca.

maybe First Capital Realty Inc...they use fcr.ca...they run a REIT...

strange, no info on wayback machine for that name, and only one backlink to the site is

http://www.cnmag.ca/choosing-a-place-to-rent/

this is the article.
"
Where to look for a rental apartment
Once you know what you want, it’s time to start searching for a place. At this point you need to pick some areas you are interested in, and literally walk up and down each street looking for “for rent” signs on apartment buildings and houses. You can find information in advance in websites, newspapers, classified ads, rent magazines or community newspapers. Some useful websites are www.viewit.ca, www.capreit.ca, www.expatriates.com."

which redirects to this site

It appears that CAPReit have been operating on CAPrent.com.
Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAR-UN on the Toronto Stock Exchange) is their official name. According to Yahoo Finance their market capitalization is $8.2 billion.
They handle mainly residential rentals as I understand it- they operate a large building almost across the street from us in our neighbourhood in Victoria and run 3 other buildings just in this small section of Victoria.
I guess they wanted a .ca to match their name.
I actually am optimistic that country codes will do well compared to legacy extensions in the coming few years.
Certainly a nice sale.
