Hello to anyone reading this, I'm a new domainer and I would like to know if there is a way to know the EXACT time a domain is going to drop.

I can tell you for a fact that it can't be done. Otherwise dropcatchers wouldn't need to fire off api calls constantly.

The ones I have tried to get all say 10:45 am Pacific time. Since I usually backorder I don’t pay attention to the exact time. When I want to let it go unless I can get it after the drop as a hand register that would be in the next hour or so after a drop with no one picking it up. I have never tried like immediately after a drop time etc but I am sure others here have and have better info on attempting a hand register after a drop.

It depends on the TLD, some registries show exact HH:MM:SS drop times in whois.

You mean prior to dropping? Might be but I assume he's asking about competitive TLDs as otherwise he would have no need to catch something which nobody else wants.

Yes.

Not sure what your point is here, but there are registries that show the exact time of drop and many domains are caught at that exact time, so it's not about "catching something nobody else wants".

Do you know any of these registries?
