How many of you have received Fake Acepted counter offers via Dan.com ? This was my 5th ...and on checking got a reply that it was not a legit accepted offer..

Buyer made offer and accepted my counter offer...but I received reply from support it was not legit.
Is it similar at other markerplaces?

Dan seems to encourage "accept" or "decline". There are tiny icons of equal sizes and until you click them you may not know what they are. Accept, decline, counter. It is very easy to accept or decline by mistake.
Also people make fake offers intentionally, and raising minimum price can't help, why should they be worried about the price if they are not willing to pay.
Also, some people change their mind after a deal is made although they were initially serious. Why? : I don't know, maybe because they don't like sellers' country. Sellers' info should be hidden.

@topdom

1 - I agree on that sometimes non-serious buyers do this and there must be some sort of binding, I paid for a name myself I found I can use it, I can still do a good hand reg too, but really like the exact name and wanted to go ahead and paid thru the BUY NOW and then the seller started to think he can sell for more higher or something, such a pity thing and no deal.

I asked DAN to have the names (complete portfolio) removed and they did it.

Raising a minimum price won't make them pay BUT it makes them think if they have 20% chance of buying and little serious that they offering a price, we getting weekly offers on names starting from $100 or more on afternic and it's a whole diff thing there.

2 - The whois I think doesn't matter as it's partially open or full open doesn't make much difference as people need a name when they like and it fit for their business I hardly see any decline in sales due to the seller's country, maybe 5% but very less. so the best part is to have DAN black list the Email/IP/Card to have less chances of these things.

I suggest they must ask and verify the seller if they are bidding and making an offer of having their card verified and account verified so that way they must have some sort of obligations.

Thank you.

there must be a card verification or some mobile verification ... if dans gets 25% traffic from fake buyers it will decrease the credibility of the marketplace.... quality Vs Quantity must be the aim.

agreed, a lot of companies using API's to verify the face recognition.. that won't do much .. but still some buyers will take it seriously and follow the rules.

They need to practise it more strictly, like not approving free gmail accounts and other couple of measure to make it more better, a lot can be done, like preference etc to make sure, also credit card validity and a small micro charge perhaps, etc to make sure the offer obligation are fulfilled and also if someone does not pay or does anything, they can have a electronic letter of demand going to the verified email address as a PDF, can suggest them few things :)

I changed the country at Sedo, and now half of the sales are fake. Sedo insists on showing country to all, and sellers' names and addresses to fake buyers. Total nonsense (I mean, disgusting). Dan and AN may be similar. Epik is the best in this sense, but it is not a big marketplace, and doesn't have partners like Sedo and AN do. I declined a big offer at Dan, because it was obviously fake.

I still.never understood if Dan is seeing its sellers are getting so many fake offers and counter offers accepted and buyer verification is extremely important for a legit marketplace... why this feature is least important?
