Hi

As Europe in quite a big market for Hyphenated domains It got me thinking which is the best currency to use on Sedo for them.

Feel free to share your thoughts in the thread.

I voted for Euro. Hyphens and Euro are common things in Europe 😁

I voted for US$. Most Europeans are used to converting currencies to US$ however most Americans only seem to think in US$.

Also there is the political-economic risk of pricing in Euro's, whereas the US$ obviously fluctuates (as do all currencies of course) the fact is that the Euro-zone is becoming more unstable and might well see some countries leaving it or looking like they will leave it, this will make the Euro a far less stable currency.

Hasn't it been like this since the last financial crisis? Countries saying they want to leave but never doing it (apart from the UK and look how long that is taking)

It has always been unstable in my mind, to many cooks spoil the broth springs to mind......

Agreed. But the thing is nothing actually underpins the Euro. It is a huge Ponzi scheme where people are told how great 'their returns are' when actually wealthy countries are paying out and being told they are making money and poorer countries are being kept poor by not being able to run their own country's economy.

(Without getting into the UK politics of it I do think it is evident that prior to our present Government we had a Government who just wanted to ignore the referendum - hence the reason it has taken so long for the UK to leave. Roll on 11pm on 31st December 2020. {Ooops, sorry, said I wasn't going to get involved in the politics. LOL})

I list and have sold in the past in USD. All hyphen purchases were European buyers too. I think price matters more than currency.

I always list with US currency because it is a known standard worldwide.
Most people know what the conversion rate is for their own currency.
