I created an account with SN because they do not require sending them stupid id selfies like dropcatch. However I read that if you win an auction on SN you will be asked to create an account with the "sponsoring registrar" (they do not say who is that). So there is the danger that after paying $79 they require you to send selfies to create a new account with a registrar, and if you don't you lose the fee paid and the domain.
Any experience from SN auction winners?

The "sponsoring registrar" is Network Solutions.

I'm sorry, it's the only way to participate in Snap auction;

The worst registrar; only reason I opened Net Sol

Thanks for reaching out..
Checked Network Solutions. NS somehow brings that annoying Ryanair flight booking experience to the domain world...
Could not find out if NS bitch about selfies, cause US LLCs usually come with that bs after they have got hold of your money.
Iirc the EU made (or plans to make) that practice illegal (finally!).
I guess I'll have no problem complying if forced to, it's just that it's not right, and entirely unnecessary if paying with a card issued by a big/reputable bank.
Will update.

Account automatically created with Network Solutions with the domain in it. No issues so far 👍
