tips How do I profit with unregistered domains?

Over the last couple of years, I've sold 2000+ domains on eBay, most of them were $1 No reserve auctions! During this process, I learned how to pick the right names and I developed my own evaluation principles.

Practicing how to buy and sell domains for any profit helped me to improve my decision making on the names I should purchase and which I should stay away from.

When I look at the available names here in the Namepros threads, I don't see how the people here are deciding which name to buy/to register. And they register hundreds of randomly selected names that have absolutely no commercial value. I think most of the people are playing the domain lottery among thousands of other domainers and most of the time I can see those lottery tickets, that are already lost!!!

Instead of gambling leave the decision on a more experienced domainer, before you throw money out of the window. So, If you want me to help you find valuable available names, just pm me!

Please comment any domains that you've registered and you've sold for at least $100 or more in relatively a short time, let's say within 3-6 months. I'm sure this would be very useful for everyone to learn domaining properly!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I've had "people" email me as soon as they see I just registered a domain name. Then I guess they register all the "good" social media accounts that match the domains I just registered. I guess it's not only me. They do this for everyone. On average they charge anywhere from $250-$1000 or even $5000 per account.

and that's with no money invested by then.

I'm sure they either use a free service or a paid service to find a list of all registered domain that day. Plus those social media accounts there is no need to renew them annually as they are free no like domains.

These guys are basically the ticks and mosquitoes that feed off of tigers and lions and crocodiles or those tiny fish the feed off the scraps from the mouth of a shark and the shark lets them. lol

Edit: by the way "Over the last couple of years, I've sold 2000+ domains on eBay, most of them were $1 No reserve auctions!"

really? on Ebay and at $1 No Reserve? Would be nice for the forum to see your stats.

like examples of final sold prices and the profit after you minus your cost seeing as you've probably paid more than $1 to register a domain and then there is the entire cost of doing an Ebay auction including the commission fee. Thanks

Thanks for your reply, interesting mosquitos :)

I will share some insights and put some numbers together, however, I won't disclose the sales publicly.

To get a rough average, from the eBay transactions completed in 5 years is $40.90

Some domains were renewed and held for a year or 2, in very rare cases for 3. I closed at least 500 private deals, bulk offers, etc.

Roughly my average sales including private deals, losses, & eBay+PP fees are somewhere at $25.

I think the ratings you see here: https://www.ebay.com/usr/brandshorenames, it gives you an image of the quality I've provided for the market.

If you want to learn more about what type of domains I collect check out https://dnhere.com/ and I welcome you to get access to 562 free to register domains 😍

You could focus on finding expired domains that have been previously developed websites. If you dig deep you can find some good available domains that have good backlinks and relevant niche history. Might be worth to look down that route.

Sold Workmondo.com for $144 on Friday 🤩 and Trendinger.com for a lower price.

I keep sharing similar names once or twice a week to this thread.

Happy Hunting :D

How much do you spend on the logos made? Where do you have them made? I see that on your ebay store you mention, you make logos as well.

And if you don't mind, what CMS are you using for your site brandshore?

Hi @blogspotter,

I personally do more UX and development :) We have in house designers for the logos. Perhaps, PM me if I can help to provide cool custom logos.

For brandshore.com I've used Gatsby JS with Snipcart for processing the payments. We run the site without Server nor CMS. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions regarding the development.

Talk soon.
