news GoDaddy closes Austin locations, 400 staff let go

I have been less than impressed with godaddy for some time now due to an issue that has still yet to be resolved

That and then hearing about the blockchain domain name portfolio being allowed to expire because people having difficulty getting in to their own accounts etc although this has been aproblem godaddy have had for years by making a persons passwordthat difficult not even the owner of the account can remember their own password

Godaddy isnt as good as it used to be in my personal opinion

Plus whats the point of providing a domain name valuation service if they themselves wont buy domains they value at the price they value them at

Damn, this is sad news, a lot of people affected by this.

Hopefully the impressive group of employees that play such a positive role in helping domainers with services at GoDaddy will not be impacted directly by these layoffs.

Hopefully as COVID economic impact wanes, many of those in other divisions will be able to return to GD as the CEO expressed hope in his Tweet.

Hopefully, the person responsible for not implementing two-factor authentication at Afternic is one of the 400.

Even Austin was left.

It looks like these layoffs are tied to "GoDaddy Social," which has been a money-loser for the company ... and many of these employees were probably formerly with Main Street Hub, a social media management company which GoDaddy bought last year.
