This question hits very hard in domainers heart. Never ask a domainer about the number of domains he/she has. Lol

I have just over 30. Will build up to maybe 50-100. I don't mind sharing.

L/a/z/o/t(dot)com
$1795 Bin Afternic
Handreg Aug 2019, hold time 10 months
Submitted to Squadhelp but rejected. Sometimes rejection is good for you.
The best way to be sure your domain will sell is when is rejected by Squad help. The little ones they struggle to sell is through afternic.

What landers do you use ns1/n2 or n3/n4?

I mentioned it in this thread in some detail. I acquired around 4,500 or so names with the fasthosts promo. Used a ton of data to create possible permutations, registered some of my favorites from those permutations and listed them on the aftermarket.

It's definitely a numbers game with data driven registrations. I'm officially "in the black" - so all profit from a few sales ago onward.

Not sure what the final numbers will look like at the end of the registration cycle, will be an interesting turnout. I'll likely write about the whole experience once it's all wrapped up.
Although it is old post, maybe @Ali will be kind enough to share how much of his 4500 domains sold and what where final figures?

O_o:xf.smile:
Frank, I laughed reading your comment (still he had 3x profit, right? 12-3=9, 9/3=3)

P.S. My last posting was $9 sale at Liquidated domains market though, breaking even(bought for $8.47)

By the way, no disrespect to the author of original posting ;)

PROJECT_MAKEOVER_COM

Completed sale for $20,300

Cost basis was $0

What is notable about this sale is that it was made possible by a donation of an expiring/dropping name from @Blitzpotz back in September 2019 as a result of this initiative:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/poll-for-the-goodwill-of-domains-digital-empowerment-brand.1157478/

We previously had an offer through Afternic for $3500 which did not close. The amount of $20,300 was funded via wire transfer this morning.

The eRise.org project is still bootstrap but this sale puts fresh gas in that tank. So far, eRise.org has funded two main projects: (1) DomainGraduate.com and (2) Toki OS.

Anyway, big thanks are due to @Blitzpotz -- he is one of the nicest guys in the industry. His generosity in donating what he may have thought was a trash name ended up being a big blessing in 2020.

luckily he closed his namepros account
so he doesn't need to read this

I don't know what his intentions were,
but I think you owe him at least 50% of the total profit

-quote-:
In the meantime, specific to the brand name, we have some finalists and would appreciate some input on domain selection. A non-profit entity is expected to be established once the entity has a name. The working name, coined by @Blitzpotz, is DevAid. That one is not bad, but the domain was taken, and I think we can do better anyway.
-quote end

Frank - this might be hard for you to imagine, but there are actually people in this world who are selfless, and who understand that scarcity is an illusion, and that it is possible to co-create abundance. These funds are being used to lift up tens of thousands of people in places like Nigeria and Bangladesh. The team is just getting warmed up. The legal entity eRise Foundation was established in 2019. It is incorporated in Washington state and led by our amazing team Nigeria.

you're new investor with 850 domains then this is first sale? really? how much you spent for all domains?

My first sale! Happened about a week ago.

Domain: E x a m (dot) T o o l s
Sale venue: DAN
Listing type: Make offer
Asking price: 3000$
Sale price: 2000$ (1820$ after comission)
Purchase venue: Hand-reg
Purchase price: 7$
Hold time: 2 months
Overall portfolio size: 850
Started 4 months ago. The first and only sale so far.
Details: the first offer was 250$, I countered with 3000$, the buyer said 1000$. I kindly told won't sell for less than 2K. Got 2K then :) Guess this name was a lucky ticket. Happy about this sale, everything went really smooth. Could demand a higher price I think but still happy enough, and I wish all the best to this great person who bought it (I see it's been used already).
