Are you going to be buying more hyphen .COM domains in late 2019?

Just sold sushi-man.com from an Epik SSL lander for $4200. This is one of Epik's O&O domains. I don't normally report sales but these days we are routinely asking for $10K+ for good hyphen .COM names and seeing sincere engagement.

The great gTLD experiment has been run. I now routinely sell even ccTLD registrants are upgrading from their ccTLD to .COM if they can afford it. I was late to acknowledge it but the risk-reward equation for speculators overwhelmingly favors .COM.

When it comes to hyphenated .COM, SEO is your friend. I recommend to use SSL landers but any SEO lander will probably do the trick to drive inquiries.

Don't be daft.

What I am saying is that 'internet-satellite' is how people would more commonly refer to such, that is all.
I have no idea what are you talking about and you don't either. Satellite internet is what countless people use in their daily lives and they call it satellite internet, of course. "Internet satellite" does have a meaning, but very niche and industry-specific – since most telecom satellites are not "internet only".

If you look into these "internet satellite" results, most of search results are going to be coincidental, like

zrjiLHl.png

– these words are not being used as a word combination here.

It is not wrong not to know something, but how about doing a google check before starting to argue?

@Don Gondon Silly me, there I am only listening to people at the university(ies), what is said in business, what is in the press and forums, but then again all this could be wrong, and therefore should you and I both invest in our separate views you will make a greater profit than me, and I will be happy for you. (y)

In the meantime I still prefer 'internet-satellite' and you prefer 'satellite-internet' (I own neither and don't intend to either), does it really change the world whichever we prefer or indeed what 'Google' reports as search results. (Americans pronounce the letter 'z' as 'zee' whilst we British correctly pronounce it as 'zed' - though the latter is changing because of the evolution to ever more Americanism of the English language, but does it really matter? No, we just have to become accustomed to it.)

As it is I thank you for educating me on this fact - I will undoubtedly refer to it in future as like all language it is important not to be blinded by individual prejudices or misconceptions.

As an aside, to those very few people who might be interested (if there are any that is (n) ), I remember reading a paper some years ago that actually explained why the American pronunciation of the letter 'z' as 'zee' was becoming more prevalent in the English language within the UK. It seemingly is all down to the TV program 'Sesame Street' and how many young children in the 80's and '90's learned their alphabet - by watching TV ! Damn it, that Big Bird and the other characters on that show have a lot to answer for. :xf.frown::xf.eek::ROFL:

Here is an interesting bit of background intel on the subject.

The member @Robbie has put up a post ( https://www.namepros.com/threads/domains-owned-by-the-castello-brothers-inc.1194758/ ) linking to his blog and concerning the domains that are owned by the David and Michael Castello (not exactly newbies to the domaining game :xf.wink:).

I have gone through the list to see if there was anything of interest, and the immediate thing that jumps out is the number of hyphened domains they own. (It should be stressed that from the list the unhyphenated are far more numerous than the hyphenated domains, but I think the results would surprise many.)

Firstly, the hyphened domains the Castello brothers own where they also own the exact same unhyphenated domains:

apache-junction.com
baracoa-cuba.com
canoga-park.com
cathedral-city.com
david-castello.com
delray-beach.com
golf-club.com
hobe-sound.com
huatulco-mexico.com
island-of-youth.com

jupiter-island.com
merritt-island.com
miami-design-district.com
michael-seven.com
palm-canyon-drive.com

viti-levu.com

Now the list of hyphenated domains where the Castello brothers do not own the unhyphenated domain:

I registered El-Monte.com recently (as part of a bundle of large hyphenated US cities), it is in California with a population of circa. 115,000. Doing checks on the unhyphenated domains I found that the ElMonte, com redirects to ElMonteRV.com. Suddenly my domain, IMO, became the most valuable 'El Monte' domain available.

A nice juicy hand reg as far as I am concerned, and I might very soon be advertising it for sale in the area. :xf.smile:

I will keep on looking out for your posts.
