Thanks Federer for sharing your sales info selflessly.

Just ran a quick search. I believe he has a large portfolio. Don't think it matters what the exact figure is IMO.
As you can see early 2019 he had more than 30K domains, in 2018 he had over 16K, also he mentioned that at times he registers thousands of names at any given time. It's possible to hit 50K real quick at such a rate. I am sure he drops hundreds each year otherwise would be much greater than 50K.

+30,000. Hence the daily sales.

We register hundreds, sometimes thousands of domains at any given time - and opt for 2-word generic domains 90% of the time. Sometimes a few can slip through the cracks and be TM's as we don't have time to check filings for every single 2-word term. We never have ads on our .DE / .CO.UK sales pages and we do not outreach to companies to sell these types - buyers come to us. Only 1-2 times each year, a company asks us to hand over a name - which is low considering I have over 16k domains under MGMT.

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

It’s been just couple of weeks coming to Malaysia and right after relocating, I sold couple of domains and that too within 24 hours. It was really surprising and very satisfying to have 2 domain sales and that too of five figures! Having couple of five figures that quickly is a personal record. Credit to the hard working brokers and Afternic team.

Both of them happened via Afternic.

First sale was of DarkWallet.com which I originally listed for sale at $29,888 BIN both at Sedo and Afternic. Usually all my pricing is same at every marketplace. The buyer came via Afternic broker and initially offered $20,000. However, after going back and forth, we settled for $25,000 gross.

Next sale was definitely surprising which happened after DarkWallet.com sale where the buyer simply hit the BIN and paid $19,888 for it. The domain was BusinessChecking.com

The total acquisition costs for both domains was around $1,000.

Looks like the start of this new journey of moving to Malaysia has started fantastically well and hope it continues to keep ticking up only.

Feel free to comment no matter how good or good that is 😉
Please can you be my mentor 😊

Held for 2 months?

About Sale Venue - this is where transaction completed? Mean buyer went to your site then selected one of provided payments on your site to finish?

thanks

@AbdulBasit.com - Thank you, & although you posted this very casually:

Not because who the buyer is, as that never really matters to me. I always valuate according to my valuations.

I'm sure that 2 sentence statement was read by many, but not considered. It speaks loudly of an honest business person, treating customers fairly, and a high level ethics.

I bring this up just to remind everyone there is a lot that makes someone successful in this space - there is much more, especially in domains, than squeezing every penny out of 1 deal. Many deals (valued correctly) & a good reputation will get you much further, typically.

All that takes time & no one should get frustrated or expect quick sales (as the norm). But, catching little bits of gold form those we all listen to - is the best reason the be on NamePros (IMO).

Also, thanks to everyone who shares and participated in this thread. There is so much to learn from everyone who posts here, particularly in understanding the market, trends, valuations, etc..

Thank you Brian for your kind words and I don't have words to say much :xf.love:

Also since this is not a discussion group but I sincerely thank you for the words said for me and rest of us. a good lesson to learn from it for being successful in life.

Honesty and ethics matters to me the most. And as always I'm still learning and trying to improve myself every day.

Best wishes!

Congrats @Nametree

Do you mind me asking what software you use for your website, is it Domain Market Pro?

Oh that's a custom Wordpress/WooCommerce setup built by @Szabolcs Szekely, but that website is no factor in my sales - it has been my intent to move my domains to my own landing pages but it hasn't happened yet. I also do like the security that comes with an intermediary like Dan, at least I don't have to worry about bad buyers, chargebacks, etc...

Just curious, were you using Afternic nameservers?
Great sale!
Yes, most all of my names on are ns3 and ns4 servers. I actually use their nameserver landers on my own portfolio site. I like that the design of that lander and it is easy to frame on my own site. Hope that makes sense.

Just to add to your post, I believe the NS1 and NS2 name servers are used for parking with ads and a for sale sign somewhere on the page.

your DAN portfolio are no BIN so how many offers you got monthly?

It varies... Some months Ill get 20-50 offers, but I get some repeats on ones like PSN.codes where I believe someone is trying to buy Playstation Codes and it just becomes a headache lol. I do rotate to BIN here and there, but I feel like I get more responses with no BIN.

Tips for how to sell your domain name on Afternic

There are two options to do this:

1. Use GoDaddy For Sale Landers by pointing your nameservers to
NS3.AFTERNIC.COM and NS4.AFTERNIC.COM.

2. Use Afternic domain parking by pointing your nameservers to
NS1.AFTERNIC.COM and NS2.AFTERNIC.COM.

SearchVolume.io does not provide global search volume, only US searches.

Keywords Everywhere tool ( paid tool) gets its data directly from Google AdWords Keywords Planner and provides global monthly searches.

this has trial?

Not sure but for $10 you get 100k data queries directly integrated into your google search. I've been a paid user for 8 months already and I still have 70k ( I paid for $10 for 100k) searches left....its much more efficient and cheaper than everything else.

Congrats on your Sale. Personally feel Buyer got a great deal.
Generic Coin related domains sell for $xxxx (at least 1.5K).
However understood that its wise to pocket the money from the table during hard times like now.

tnx....... well......i've been on io for few years now.. believe me the so called generic coin related domains, in IO are available to reg in fair number... i'd probaby get 100-200$ more with more waiting and negotiations with this paritcular buyer.. but it'd be long slow and uncertain in this case.. so i went with this.

good to great 1word io domains at $300 or so are a great deal for buyers... these days... everything else is just roi that seller should take... given whats still left to reg in io and what sells etc... not much happening in namebio on coin names in io.

cheers.
