My comment under the article, as many there said they 100% support Braden:

"How can one support anyone without knowing the details?

Apparently, it wasn’t due to all the gab-like stuff, as he had plenty of time to take action for that and similar. And if he stayed during those times, does it mean he shared the ideology then?

And also, is he just stepping down from the board or also divesting his shares in the company?"

What Braden Pollock's tweet says is:

"Since @robmonster and I don't share the same ideology it's time he and I part company. I don't agree with the direction of @EpikDotCom so I've decided to resign my Board seat, effective immediately"

To me it is not clear from that if he means to say he does not like the direction the company is going, or he does not want to work with someone whose ideology he does not share, or both. Last time share ownership was discussed here Rob Monster owned 80% of Epik shares, basically giving him control of Epik.

Rob Monster has certainly discussed vaccine-scepticism and conspiracy theories very publicly, and those issues have been under the spotlight lately.

But he's been under spotlight for few years now. And, if I remember correctly, there was even an employee who quit over those. And Epik hasn't changed direction lately either. At least, publicly.

So, Braden suddenly started reading news?

At one time Epik was going to take over Undeveloped, but they went separate ways:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/undeveloped-com-and-epik-parting-ways.1039674/

That one looked to be done 100% amicably.

I remember the prepared statement for why;
I saw the two as friendly rivals since, really surprised Dan would say that... I thought there was mutual respect between the 2... Rob said Dan was the “one that got away” he respects values them. We all do, I though mean-spirited @DAN.COM. You should be on top of world. Dan great name, i find it hilarious people who still want you stay Undeveloped. Rebranding done right, and one for the business books,

I think Dan’s a great domain and great service.
Im worried about your epik relationship now.
That came out of left field, Reza @DAN.COM Hope that one amendable.i’ve only had Simon my trades, talked Laszlo on NP; all-star team!

It’s all Covid-19’s fault, Braden!

Once again, i sincerely respect not say why.

Ideology... Is it about business or anything else? We (the customers) would never know for sure what really happens inside this or that registrar. While I do have personal opinion on vaccine-scepticism, conspiracy theories and the like - I have little or no interest to link it with business operations, be it Epik or GoDaddy or any other registrar. ICANN accredited? Provides services as expected? Secure enough? No negative side effects? If so, then the registrar may be used. If not, then the registrar should not be used. That's all. Decision making based on the things that can be more or less verified...

However, the news posted is not a routine daily news. If mr. Pollock has something to say about business part of Epik registrar - it is one story. Epik is popular registrar here @ NP, so this would be useful to share. If, however, Brandon and Rob do disagree on some non-business ideological, political or other aspects - then it is life, nothing special. imo.

Why don’t you want specifics? I think most here would want specifics and transparency . Especially those who have their names there. And it wasn’t a dig it was an outright accusation in that Reza tweet. It seems there is more to this story which we will likely never know from all perspectives involved.

You are supposed to build bridges in this industry (no different than any other) not build an enemies list. Sad. I want to know more about the “investors” who were told negative things.

Its pretty clear their was nothing amicable about the Epik/Dan split.

It seems they know the details. I haven’t noticed random people supporting his decision, mostly those from his circle, IMO

I noticed the Kate Buckley reply so maybe she knows more than we know. I saw the tweet earlier and was actually going to post it then I saw it is posted by @EJS .

@Samer I agree with @karmaco as the specifics is good.

While the tweet by Braden focuses more on him leaving his board role, reading between the lines might mean he sold his shares as you cant be in disagreement with the direction of a company that you have shares with. I am sure you would cut your affiliation and leave.

As for @DAN.COM very interesting to post that. That will be big issue as such tactics are not professional at all.

We will never know what happened behind closed doors...and I don't really care.

As long as Epik is headed by Rob and they keep the lowest domain pricing for investors and they keep on not charging for privacy the vast majority of my names will remain there.

Gab and 8chan support.png

You dont need to dig far to see Epik support for hate. Here Gab.com post by Epik engineer proud of hosting Gab and building tools to help hate speech.

Dont take some liberal wikipedia description of Gab as your definition. GO READ what people post on there. The news is full of far right conspiracy theorists, racists, bigots.

Here's rob talking about how they working to make sure all the "free speech" can go on at all times. Who he talking to? Haters and racists. Hes not going onto Black forums, onto Muslim forums, onto Jewish forums. Just a forum mostly full of people who hate.

Rob about 8chan.png

Dont believe me? Here a typical response from the hate-ful people on Gab in response to one of the many posts Rob has made there while socializing and doing businiess

Hate speech.png

That makes my skin crawl. These people say things that are deplorable,.

Oh wait....it not just those people, its the people who work at Epik too

8chan.png

8chan is a hot bed for white supremacism, neo-Nazism, the alt-right, racism and anti-Semitism, hate crimes, and multiple mass shootings.

gab is a hot bed for white supremacism, neo-Nazism, the alt-right, racism and anti-Semitism.

Choose the company you keep. clearly Braden doesn't wnat to keep company with Rob Monster any longer.

Epik’s dot com renewals are not the lowest by any means anyway. I’ve offered Rob Monster my prices at DynaDot and Rob Monster has admitted he cannot match them. DD domain privacy is free. I have about 1500 domains.
