This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

Do not post only, "great sale" or similar as this doesn't contribute to the thread. (Don't reply for the sole purpose of complimenting.)
  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

couldn't add to the original post as 30 mins passed.

It was sold through outbound approach. Sent a few highly targeted emails and it did the magic.

I had 2 buyers interested. But decided to undersell it to the other firm, have also discussed future projects with them, so the sale concluded with a potential long lasting business relation with the firm :) and I don't quite regret having undersold it.

I don't usually report the smaller ones but this name was purchased here on Namepros so I wanted to share.

in dot com

$160, inbound offer on sedo (it might have originated from Namesilo using sedo's partner program or w/e it's called - I kind of remember seeing that but not 100% sure.).

Hold time was under a year, paid $25 for it at Namepros auction.
That was a great undersold domain name. You should have pitch it to internet copywriters...

DAN, $9188 BIN
Purchase price: high $xxx

Bought this in Feb. on NP as a two-pack with another name. I remember I offered it on Twitter on someone's "post your .com for sale" thread for less than $3k, a few liked it but no one made an offer.

Someone on Twitter did suggest a company that might like it, so I reached out to them on Linkedin, got a reply asking price, offered it for $5k, never heard back. I think I changed prices on Dan several times, a couple of weeks ago I had it at $5k again, but I had just made a sale that gave me some padding, so I went through some of my favorite names and raised the prices.

Well, someone bit and bought it at BIN.

The one other thing that's interesting about this one is I had a $14k BIN at Afternic, which had also been raised recently. I don't do a great job at keeping my prices consistent because I'm a little lazy, but sometimes I intentionally leave a gap between Afternic pricing and Dan pricing - I have a theory that if someone sees a "premium" name at Godaddy, types it in, and sees it's offered for less on the Dan landing page, they're ever so slightly more likely to buy at BIN thinking they're getting a sweet deal. Not sure that was a factor here, but I think I'll try that more consistently from now.

Dan, $1500
Cost: Reg. fee + 1 renewal

Offer came in at $300, had a $3500 BIN. I tried to get him to get closer, offered installments, highest he got to was $1k so I walked away last week. But today I followed up and asked if he was still interested, he said he could do $1500 but no more. He owns a matching .com so I figured let's squeeze what I can while I have the attention.

Plus, it was a milestone sale for me on Dan...

Thanks to all who share knowledge and are open about their sales and process, it's been immensely helpful and I'm very grateful.

Sold at afternic. I manually marked both as sold on Dan. Will delete both from my portfolio when I'm chanced.

Sell Price: $890
Buy Price: Hand Reg
Hold Time: 21 days (19th May registered)
Sold on Afternic BIN (not sure if from a Godaddy search or their marketplace, not sure how to find that out?)

Portfolio Size: 48 Domains (only came back to domaining a month ago).

Found it in a deleted domain list, searched the term, American company with 11 Linkedin employees on the .com here: https://innersensebeauty.com/

Noticed that they had a UK website on this domain https://innersenseorganicbeauty.co.uk/

And I assume that's the buyer, but will find out very soon.

Probably could have priced a bit higher but its not a domain I'd be willing to renew for 3 years so priced to sell (and don't really like the idea of holding a single potential buyer to ransom).

I have several other domains which fit a very similar scenario.

And that @Reddstagg is how you can make money with handregs, and why the hard work is finding domains that people NEED, and why selling them is EASY when you can do that successfully. I promised you examples, I've got another one coming soon.

First time I managed to close two transactions on the same day.

Domain: IdeaFarm in the co.
Dan make offer: $250.
Purchased on some promo for $3
Hold time: 6 month

Domain: Blakeworth in the dot com
Dan make offer: $2500
Purchased on GD closeouts
Hold time: 1 month

Starting offer $500, I feel slightly undersold this one. My target price was 3.5k, but I forgot to revise the price on Afternic and buyer saw the 2.5k BIN in the registry path before he made the offer. Lesson learned, I am happy with the ROI. Total portfolio size 300 with 170 dot coms.

Domain: IndoGaming.com
Venue: Afternic
Sale Price: $888
My cost: Low $xxx
Details: I had received a price request in February and I responded pricing it around $2000, but nothing happened. About a month ago I changed the price for many of my names on Afternic and priced at least 50 of them at $888. This name also had at least 150 visits per month.

Not sure if the buyer was the same person who made the price request. I sold it last week.

I dont' report many of my sales but I do like to report what I consider notable sales (recent hand reg)....This one from earlier today..
airmail-sold.png

I hand regged this for 2.49 at Dynadot on January 21st. I'm seeing .us names sell pretty well. Started investing in a small number of .us (100 or so) about 9 months ago and have had several sales from that group of names.
