.io .io Thread and Showcase

Spaceship Spaceship

Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

How strong are LLL.io domains? I see that pretty much everything is taken, and yet namebio only lists one sale - lll.io for $320. Do you know any other sales, esp. to end user? I have MLE // io

Wix.io went for $2,000 yesterday https://namebio.com/wix.io second time it sold.

Just an FYI that DynaDot unleashed a veritable torrent of 3-letter .IO expired domains, some of which are nice:

AIC.IO

DynaDot Expired

I've dropped all my LLL, NNN and 1 word .io domains.
Never received a single offers for them.

VPS.io J4.io

I have the above two.
So... the VPS.io is a great name but it isn't set up for a correct sale. The voice "John" reads it up as a .com instead of .io, and you have no reference to 'Virtual Private Server/s' (which is your major market here) anywhere on the texts.

Hope that helps.

well of course not all 3l are equal. the great ones have value. else avoid. still u regularly see even crappier ones sell on park.io or such places for couple 100s etc...

i sold ken for round 3k while ago. now hold jef and couple more.. but try to avoid in general.
only crap left to reg anyway now in 3l

cant go by what sells how much on park.io or sav auctions anyway, cause people there will bid on total bs most time... hopefully it aint investors else theyre screwed for reselling that crap given what they pay it.

I was going to register QuantumSecurity dot io on netsol, even though applying the $5 discount was a hell of a job, and at the finish line I just realized .io represent ones and zeros, while quantum has nothing to do with the binary system so I just cancelled and moved on.

Just out of pure curiosity, have you ever sold any .io quantum names?

good stuff!
how long have u been doing io?
can u sell some top sales/names/prices?
what offer ranges so far on ETH?

As a developer I've always had lots of domains from various projects and ideas. Most of them were .IOs because it has been the hacker's choice for a long time. I started becoming more serious about buying .IO domains about 2 years ago. Eth.io gets a lot of offers above 10k, just waiting for the right buyer.

great.....can u share yer best/biggest sales? ty

p.s i started with io 2-3 years back. it is my biggest seller too, even though in 90% cases i settle on < 1k final sale prices in my negotiations. which is still good avg sale prices for avg to good names. sadly, more and more people and dropcatvchers realize io value and potential, and today, one cannot really find io worth regging on expired etc..

and joining bidding on park.io or others is hardly worth it.. cause with sell prices there round 1k, it leaves nothing usually for profit.

the io landscape has definitely changd in last 2-3 years.

I don't really want to disclose specific sales numbers, sorry.

I agree about Park.io prices trending up. Just a couple days ago Changes[.]io went for $3k, which seems pretty high to me. But there are still some good finds on there I think. I am interested to see how the .CO auctions go.

similar things are starting to happen to co. i am also a fan of it.
and its 2nd seller aftr io for me.
but co went prem on their names last year as u know, so things changed drastically there.
still its worth considering whether its not better to pick (as in handreg) decent prem co for say $150 vs decent io on bids on park.io for 1k.

io is amazing. as is co. but the days of cheap regs for decent names mainly from fresh expired where I got most of mine.. ended a year or so ago. sadly i do not think they are coming back.

so whatever good names u people are tihnking of dropping in io, i suggest u think twice.

p.s agreed on overpriced changes,io bidding. tons of stuff goes overpriced on park.io... people pay nonsense bs prices on nonsense bs io domains there. its insane. unless they are endusers, those prices leave no room for profit in 90% cases.
