Hi,

I have seen lot of popular, aged, two words and pronounceable domains are coming into expired/dropped domains list.

Why those people are not renew, these domains are very good and pronounceable like
  • 04 Dec 2019 - CLOSED OUT LIST
  • dailyrenting.com
  • nitrochallenge.com
  • petsapps.com
  • etc..
Age domains like 10,15,even 20 years old but these are not renewed and coming into expired domains.
Why???

Age doesn't really matter. If they are dropping it's probably because no one made an offer or they forgot to renew

So if there was no offers, then if I registered also the same right.
The above domains are worth or not, it is pronounceable and easy to remember.

I wouldn't buy them but it's me

When it comes to long-time domainers, we see shifts in strategy:

- PPC portfolios that no longer pay for themselves are finally getting dropped
- Product category names that made money in 2009 (pre-Google Panda) are finally getting dropped.

A few other patterns:

- People who did not stay current (e.g. at NamePros) are giving up on hopes of easy money
- People are finally retiring from work generally (especially US Baby Boomers)
- People are literally dying or becoming incapacitated

The fact that we see more folks capitulating on entire portfolios is also why I was quick to approve this project from Dan Sanchez:

(Link to promotional listing removed - Please use the marketplace for promoting features/services/Specials/Etc.)

People need help liquidating domains. They don't realize that their silly brandable name is now a name that matches to a PE-funded company or is a Pinyin term, or what not. Technology can help a lot!

So what kind of strategy is currently going on?
What type of domains are mostly liquid?

What type of domains are mostly liquid?

- 2N to 4N.com and 2L.com - liquid like cash
- 3L.com liquid
- 4L.com brandable and/or pronounceable highly liquid
- 5N.com becoming liquid
- 6N.com bulk buyers are surfacing as supply of 4N.com and 5N.com become consolidated.

Other highly liquid categories, notably in .COM:

- Cannabis/CBD
- Vape
- Drone
- Cloud
- Pinyin keywords (many Chinese buyers)

For the rest, I like brandable .com but ones where the brand actually makes sense and has a logical story as opposed to the silly stuff you see piled to the rafters on SH with no bids.

Most other categories are not liquid but can still provide great asymmetric returns. And some domains are good enough to SHOOT THE MOON.

I believe this list a good hint for me as a domainer. Thanks for dropping sir!

The way I see it at the moment, people are (as Rob Monster pointed out) "... literally dying or becoming incapacitated" or because there is so much fear and unrest at the moment they either cannot afford it or are simply forgetting to renew because they have other priorities.
