Good article...an outside adviser agreed. “Trump can’t pivot to a different strategy,” the adviser told me. “He only knows one strategy—which is attack."

And when he’s not feeling helpless or aggrieved, Trump continues to cling to magical thinking. “He lives in his own fucking world,” the outside adviser said.

At this point many Republicans I spoke to said the only hope for Trump is that Biden implodes. As one prominent Republican put it: “Right now the only person who can change the dynamic is Joe Biden.”

I think Biden is a perfect rep for the Dems. Brain addled, deeply corrupt, deeply compliant with all the dark money, unable to finish his turn, and most likely with a radical nutter VP ready to replace him. Fascism is going to win anyway at some point - may as well get it over with and trash the country so future generations can rebuild (or leave).

Eat the rich!

Twitter has allowed misinformation by world leaders and everyday citizens to spread virtually unchecked, but Trump has made many false claims on social media, particularly on his preferred medium of Twitter, and has also attacked people in ways that critics have argued could violate company policies on harassment and bullying. The company revised its terms of service to say it would remove posts by anyone, even world leaders, if such posts went “against guidance from authoritative sources of global and public health information."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/05/26/trump-twitter-label-fact-check/

Shortly after the labels were applied, Trump claimed the company "is interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election" and "stifling FREE SPEECH." He added that he, "will not allow it to happen!"

Yes, of course it is. You are in favor of that?

How about the telephone? That also allows free speech. Should we monitor all phone calls to keep us "safe?"

And by the way, you do know the WAPO is Jeff Bezos personal platform? He's a nice guy - just ask anyone....

Of course I believe in freedom of speech, but not fake news - since all standards of normality have been thrown out the window, it's refreshing to see some responsibility taken by a social media site to monitor and protect it's users. I'm sure they will have to modify their user agreement.

I don't think Trump has the right to stop the site from flagging questionable posts that may do more harm. In fact, getting his knuckles rapped is probably the best medicine for all.

Chinese propaganda about America releasing the Wuhan virus is still up without any warning. If Twitter were to move against China the way they did conservatives, they would lose access to Chinese money.

Pure politics but bad policy b/c there will now be calls to censure / flag all types of political speech. The DOJ will drop a bag of hammers on them.

In 2016, democrats found the only candidate worse than Trump. I have faith in Joe Biden to be that candidate in 2020.

Error and Fraud at Issue as Absentee Voting Rises
Yet votes cast by mail are less likely to be counted, more likely to be compromised and more likely to be contested than those cast in a voting booth, statistics show. Election officials reject almost 2 percent of ballots cast by mail, double the rate for in-person voting.

“The more people you force to vote by mail,” Mr. Sancho said, “the more invalid ballots you will generate.”

Why are you so slow all the time? That's a mailing issue, not a voting issue. If those ballots were used for fraud, then it's fraud. Those are the type of stories you've been posting, not actual VOTING. Then I already addressed all that. I pointed out some fraud will happen, but not enough to swing an election, then I pointed out........................Fraud can happen for both Dems and Repubs. Now reread what I just posted until it sinks in.

I also linked to a Fact Check site taking a lot of your nonsense apart. Try actually reading it today.

Some obvious stuff. His free speech isn't being stifled, he can still tweet. Some will have warnings. That goes for everybody, even Joe Biden. And it's their platform, they can do what they want.

It's funny seeing Trumpers talking about free speech, just because a platform adds in a little warning but ok with:

Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that....

You: This study by written by a left wing nut who compiled a bunch of opinions by other nuts to prove fraud isn't a problem.

Me: Here are a dozen examples of fraud. Here is how automatic voter registration and mail in voting increases the opportunity and the amount of fraud.

You: but but but but your dumb. Try reading.

Mail in ballots increase the opportunity for fraud. End of story.

Funny seeing progressives ignore the law and #1A when political circumstances favor them.

Hot tip; Censuring people because you don't like their politics isn't "free speech". It's censurship.

Why does that have to be explained to you?

In exchange for legal protection, online forums promise to allow free speech. If you censure people based on politics, you should not have that protection.

We've went over this many times. This thread would probably have half the posts if it wasn't for your memory issues and lying, dragging stuff out. The Fact Check site that I linked to, taking all your nonsense apart. Annenberg is behind that company, lifelong Republican, Reagan friend.

Mailing issues isn't voting fraud. That's what you've been posting. Actual fraud, like the recent one by Republicans doesn't happen that often.

What part of fraud can be committed by both Dems and Repubs goes over your head?

It's amazing both you and Trump and see the future and tell us Trump will lose because of voting fraud. Voting that hasn't even taken place yet.

Again, go see a doctor, get checked out. You're repeating stuff I've went over.

Would you be ok if he did what he said? It's a simple Yes or No answer. He can't but if he could, would you be ok with Trump closing down Twitter because they added those warnings? Don't turn into mr-Dodge, simple yes or no. The fact check warnings are for everybody, only those on the Right are crying about it.

So, the short version is, no you are not in favor of freedom of speech. The exceptions you cite make that clear. You want some powerful and unaccountable entity to control what you see and hear.

Sorry, but that's what you wrote. Freedom means making up your own mind with all arguments presented.
