How do you think your portfolio site name is, with respect to your portfolio?

By portfolio site name, I mean, the website you use to showcase your portfolio.
I see many members use a portfolio site name in their signature to showcase their domain names.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
What can I say I've always been a fast learner. 😁

And even though I've only been actively buying for the past 9 months I've done plenty of reading (and listening) before I even bought the first name in my portfolio and I continue to. And no I don't know everything, but what I have done has worked so far. As for the future nobody knows but looks well. I'm looking to ramp up and expand my small portfolio just as soon as I finish the tooling to help me run my domain business, and yes that includes my own portfolio site.

Well i'm glad you deleted that unnecessary attack on me.
Hopefully as time goes you'll get to understand domaining this isn't about buying - it's only about selling. look forward to reading about your successes. My incline though is you've built a castle before understanding how bricks are made. We'll see how you do

Where do I start...with your misrepresentation of what I said?

Maybe that statement thats its not about buying but its about selling. Which isn't totally true as you can't sell without buying. And buying without selling is sure to bankrupt you.

Or your closing statement that shows you clearly haven't read anything I said.

I'm shocked you are taking a simple disagreement over something that is ultimately so minor so personally.

But for the sake of not derailing this thread any further I will refrain from replying to any more of your posts.

Good job I didn't cut/clip you earlier comments - Look Newbie you just carry on - no skin off my nose.

I am going to leave you to your own devices from now on in. Your clearly persuaded by your own self beliefs - So welcome to that clic.

After nearly 10 years here on NP - Congratulations on being my very first on the ignore button.

Speedy ryan217 is deleting posts as fast as he posts. But yes I am quick to respond - maybe I should wait for his 30min time-out . What a dick-head

From now on in he can harvest whoever he thinks gullible, without my interference

I have
BrandFloor.com
I grabbed it from godaddy expired auctions (in decent price tag) few months before as I was trying to search a name like brandBucket and BrandPa market places.
Still did not put my entire portfolio on it, only a few domains on there (a lazy domainer ). Working on it and who knows that it will be a good competitor in brandable domain market with some exceptions.:xf.smile:
I hope you ppl will like and remember the name.

I am listing my domains on my branding agency site:

https://rightbrand.com

So far only 1% of my portfolio listed there. Lots of work, but I already get encouraging results and get around 900 unique visitors a day, mostly USA, Canada, Europe.

We developed a small one over at www.DomainRex.com

Any feedback is welcomed :)

@DomainRex

That's a very professional looking site!
I especially like the individual logo's for each name - what percentage of your buyers do you find actually go on and utilise the logo, or at least the design concept?

Thank you!

Depends to be honest but probably 60% used at least a similar concept to the logo

It goes without saying that if you are in name selling business, you yourself need to have an impressive name. Think of this way, a potential customer does not like your portfolio name, they are already "hm.......".

Does salesman with a clip-on tie get your attention? How do you potentially start dealing with him. Aren't you already biased?

As a seller, one has to understand how domain buying process works. Buying a domain is seldom an instant process. Diligent buyers typically give themselves plenty of time to buy a domain. Thinking evolves, strategy evolves, and so does choice of a domain name. As a business, last thing you want is a name not truly representing you or a name limiting your growth. 'It is not easy to rebrand' - many psychological/financial factors involved in addition to loss of built equity.

It is not far fetched to say that it is not the business defining the name, rather it is the name defining the business. Searching for a name presents you many possibilities which you have not thought before. A domain name should take into consideration the future direction of your business, possibly with a 5-10 year vision. So one should give enough time to name selection process. Recommendation to domain sellers is to go looking for a name themselves. It will give your insights into the minds of a buyer and help understand the process.

In the name buying process, if the buyer has already visited the portfolio and did not like any names - simply for reason that that was not their thought process at that time. Your names were good but not 'quite match'. Down the road, their thinking evolved and now they want to revisit the names they had seen earlier in your portfolio. More likely they will come back to your portfolio if they remembered it. So it is always good to have a good portfolio name.

I’m somewhat new but am happy with my name and host.

My parent company is Quality Digital, so I went with qualitydigitaldomains.com

I’m happy I found Efty, but now I need to update the layout and backend data.

open to any criticism or offers

It depends on you,
Each has its own advantages,
It's certainly useful for domain name investors,
When it finds your other domain name through this domain name access,
But if it's a terminal it doesn't really matter,
Because he only wants the domain name

As a freelance consultant, my website is a combination for consulting services as well as my domain portfolio. (All domains are redirected to their own specific lander)

Went for a pronounceable 4L.com as an acronym: Up - Venture Enterprises @UPVE.com

I've had multiple sales in the last month directly reaching out though the landing pages, saving a small chunk of money on commission fees.

Saying that, my portfolio is still UNDER 100 TOTAL domains purchased over the course of ~2.5 years. I'm being methodical and apart from a couple of blunders, I'm reasonably confident that those domains will attract offers and buyers.

I have a few domains i like that i am not presently using which will develop eg DomainUsed Just yesterday hand registered EntirePortfolio com. I am only judged by my peers on my worst name and could have developed a website with a better name. So i must vote option 2 as a portfolio is the entire list including not published although doesn't mean everything is cheap just some not the ones you want.

I use www. Dobermain.com...it is a play on words of Doberman and Domain.
And which one did you vote for?
XYZIT.XYZ my pure .xyz domain portfolio, XYZ(adjective: young and fun)+IT = Let's xyz it! or XYZ(noun: 3D space & dimensions)+ IT (info tech).
Not a good name I would say.

For me I don't expect someone I'd just going to type it in and start searching my domains. I got it for a few reasons.

1) it is a business and one that specializes in domain names so I think it'd be odd to not have some sort of website. And at the very least even if I wasn't going to build it I would want the domains so someone else dosent get it (or them as the case may be with multiple tlds.)

2) to host my own custom landing pages so that I can make them how I want, control what info I collect, own my own data, and avoid commissions on sales from traffic my names are brining in on their own.

3) I am building out my own custom control panel to manage my domains so I can piggyback off my domain to host that as well.
Do we get a chance to see it? Can you share the domain name?

And which one did you vote for?

I voted for good portfolio name and good portfolio although many people would disagree with me. My portfolio can be best described as eclectic but at the same time I would certainly describe it as diversified across many different extensions and genres/niches. It is like having every car you ever owned in one garage. You can't explain why you have a certain car and not everyone is going to like your choice but it is personal to you and maybe it means something that no one would understand.

An alternative theory for my choices is that I don't know what I am doing and there may be some grain of truth in that but life is not just about the destination it is also about the journey.

This is my journey. Beeb beep

Regards,

Reddstagg

Thanks for your honesty, maybe will rebrand somedays later, now these domains ( Highquality.xyz ; Valuable.xyz; Premiums.xyz; 1.cool) can redirect to it.
