Hello guys,

I want to re-brand my current app at write.mx and I am looking for suggestions.
With rebranding, also new features will arrive and a change of platform from PHP to React + Node.js for backend.

I have purchased blogoa.com as an alternative.

I do not want to turn this thread into a domain offering page, but I would like honest opinions and if you have a blogging related domain for sale, you can suggest it.

Thanks,
Cristian

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Is it for a specific niche or just any blog?

My initial impression is I am not a fan of the .mx on the current domain. And I'm not sure I really like the new name either.

if i say .com, it makes me bias, right Christian?

blogoa’s my vote, good luck on your endeavor!

It is a blogging app, i do not blog about something in particular :)
People register and get subdomains something like: example.write.mx in this case now as it is.

Thanks,
Cristian

Not necessarily , I want to rebrand to .com and I am not sure how .mx is being perceived by people :)

I believe .MX is for Mexico right? Nevertheless, you have a great keyword which is Write. I would say stick to that one unless you can find something similar( we cant say better than since you might not be able to get Write.com ) in .COM. The other name you provided is not good as it has spelling issues and even pronouncing. If you want to make the project big with paid plans and such, I believe you would need something easy to pronounce and spell without the need to explain.

Write Mexico! what an awesome name, isn't it?

BlogOA.com looks kinda ugly to me sorry, especially including the blog keyword in a blogging app wouldn't be something thoughtful, its rather too obvious, write.mx is 10x better than Blogoa.com. Stick to Write.mx :)

It sounded brandable to me and that is why i took it..

@Abdullah Abdullah i am poor, cannot afford to go after the com, maybe in 10 years after WordPress will buy my app, like they did with tumblr, if I am not mistaking... #dreaming

I had tumbol.com 3-4 years back, but i sold it and then someone bought it in january this year as it expired... That was a good name :(

If you are after pure brandables then I thnk you will find some, but those having write keywrods, I am not too sure of it.

I would personally stick with write.mx which is a strong keyword and maybe rebrand later when i get a better name.

But you can easily get a pure brandable that can match at a fair price.

LOL, I have just found out that OA stands for osteoarthritis ... so basically would be a blog about osteoarthritis, not a brandable as i wished for...

Are open to something that doesnt include the word WRITE? A two word name previously dropped is available but it doesnt include WRITE and it sounds nice. I can send the singular and plural both for free if you want

@cipcip Hey, just sent you a PM - & I promise I am not trying to sell you something.

@cipcip write.mx is very clear and I like the nice clean look of your site.
I don't have any experience, positive or negative, on how .mx is perceived by potential users, or is there a problem that Google treat it as a non-general country code, and therefore not high in search outside that region?

I don't dislike blogoa although not wildly enthusiastic either. Is the oa just to find a name available with a speakable sound, or do the letters o and a mean something for your brand?

Best wishes with your venture whatever you decide to do.

Bob

prefer write.mx nice short clean. Blogoa got me in the mood for a bologna sandwich :xf.wink:

I think I like write.mx too. It's so hard to get a nice keyword, and I see how all the extensions are gone except the premium ones... even .ws.

I agree Bob write.mx is not bad. It makes sense for the site.

I find BlogHala.com (free to register) a good name for the idea you are purposing on your website.

I spotted this domain name long ago, it was already used in the paste.

write.mx is a great domain name, but this will not make you a brand.

Good luck for your project.
