question Is GoDaddy actively buying domain portfolios?

We all know of a few well publicized domain portfolio acquisitions by GoDaddy. I assume they reached out to the owners of those portfolios to initiate acquisition, but here comes my question:

Does GoDaddy have a contact person or department dedicated to receive submissions or proposals from domain portfolio owners?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I bet they are lowballing instead. This way they can be more selective.

We do have a contact person but our investment in portfolios typically has a floor of 10k domains or more in the portfolio. If you have a portfolio of at least that size let me know with your asking price.

Thanks so much for clarifying this. I don’t have 10K domains, but I’m sure this information is very useful for those who do...

why 10k? the domain collector could have 100 high value dot com domains, another person could have thousands of crap xyz biz etc..

Forget about .xyz.

They are resellers. You will get much much more for high value domains if sold to an end-user.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm sure that you are already well aware of that.

They usually buy in bulk, buying a lot of domains at once, rather than buying them one by one

10k make most investor ineligible @Joe Styler

More ways GD displays not domainer-friendly; Although, do appreciate the transparency, Joe.

I wouldn't say that. We have many ways to help you sell your domains no matter what size portfolio you have.

We probably wouldn't give a hard no for a 5k portfolio but the way we buy has to make sense for the seller and us and you need economies of scale for everyone to be happy with the deal. We found 10k and up is typically the sweet spot to start at for everyone to be happy with the deal.
