Wait for Dan to go through their "trying to contact the buyer" routine for a few days and then have your domain listed again.

I got a similar offer on DAN from a Thailand buyer for a four letter dot com worth more than your domain where the offer actually made sense in terms of low to mid five figures. No movement, communication or payment from buyer after I accepted and never expected any either. Apparently lot of phony offers on DAN.
Dan has too many foney buyers for me

It happens at all sites, Some of us seem to get a fair few non-payers. Personally I've never had any in *20 years (touch wood) But, that's come about by sticking with mostly fixed prices and removing any 'Offer' option. Buyers then have to pay immediately to secure the domain and you don't even know about-it until the money is in the sites Escrow

With 'Offer accepted' Dan (and most others) give up to 7 day window to pay - so sometimes once an offer is accepted there is no real rush for the buyer to pay immediately. I don't think it is a good idea to chase a buyer quite so quickly - it'll look like your desperate to sell and that can sometimes scare a buyer off

This is very commonplace. Get used to it or you can raise the lowest offer.

Hi

it's a fake offer, if accepted and they don't pay for the domain

it's a fake buyer, if the person or end-user..... gets somebody else to buy the domain for them.

like a broker or another domainer who says they have a client with big budget,
but only wants reseller prices.

:)

imo...

Contact management & request the domain to be placed back on the market as no Agreement has been made.

Cheers

Fack the fack and move on. Test complete they are testing out at what point you bite all a pointless exercise as the people they try it on would actually change way of thinking when they try it the next time.

those non-paying buyers
suddenly appeared about 2 years ago
and actually are very frequent by now

before people always were in a hurry to pay
as they wanted to secure the name

Don't lower the price, or you'll risk getting facked in the ace.

I had a similar case with the DAN platform, in my opinion Afternic is much better and more serious.

Happens on all platforms and in all industries.

It took me once a month to get relisted on Godaddy as they waited for the buyer.

Talk to a real estate agent, a car dealer or any sales person. The first few months they start they think they are already millionaires. People call, excited about some listing they saw, they swear they are definitely going to buy it, but soon they vanish. At first the salesperson might contiplate filing a mission person police report or maybe checking with the local hospitals, something must have happened, maybe they were kidnapped? Killed? Abducted by space aliens?

After a while you learn that some people get excited over things and as fast as they got excited, they lose interest. Happens in the personal relationship world too.

The solution is to make them pay right away or leave the domain listed until payment shows up. Imagine if when registering domains Godaddy and others said, ok, we will hold the name and wait a week for your payment, youd have a lot less names registered.

In real estate people know if they don't put a deposit down the house stays listed, it gets people to make moves.

If only the sales platforms rebuilt using sales techniques that get people to buy now vs the lame pages.

How many more names would a platform like dan sell if we were able to add words to a listing such as what other similar names sold for and search volume? Instead they got that traffic volume thing that rarely helps anyone, if not hurts for people who don't understand.

No other industry has such an inadequate sales process.

Even though I don't get to see them (I only shift 6 or so names a year), It's a bit like the whole domain game - Many years ago, Pretty much only those that knew what they were doing frequented domain discussion groups and buying platforms, Now pretty much everyone and anyone wants a piece of the pie (Understandable)

I suppose it's obvious that the effects should also tip over into the sales/buyers side.

I blame DNF they were the first to encourage the Riff-Raff ;)

It's only a Joke Biggie - hence the smiley. It was one of the biggest boards with a vast range of membership. Most of the boards prior tended to be people with the technical skills to manually configure settings. And understand all the complexities that these days are all automated. Domaining pre DNF also tended to rely on building sites (or optimizing) as a big part of the domaining community.

So then there was a lot of time and effort put into the income generating aspect - Sure domain sales were still around but not many entered domaining purely for the domain selling aspect. I think everything was taken a lot more serious back then. Breaking your word among a much smaller knowledge based membership would usually also have serious repercussions.

You gotta laugh Biggie, today we have newcomers who thought about it (domains) for about 48 hours prior, Joined NP this morning, with the moniker "Brands Worldwide" Or "Domain Expert" etc etc - you get my drift.

And of course these same people now operate in the buyers market - re OP's experience

Probably it is a fake offer, but not necessarily. Dan will contact them and if they fail, they will provide you the buyers e-mail. Once you get it, always send him a reminder message. I have recovered 2 sales so far, because i tried it.
TIP: Use an e-mail tracker before you send the e-mail. You will know if he opened the e-mail and how many times!
