One of the most discussed and traded categories in domaining is the 4L.com space. Providing access to a wider number of investors as opposed to 2L.com and 3L.com which many don't have the budget for. In 2018 there were 7,862 reported 4L.com sales on Namebio. 2019 saw a drop to 5,514 reported names. Now if you look at 2018, Andrew Rosener successfully sold Zoom.com for $2million. If we remove … [Read more...]

4L.com is still a solid domain to invest in, it has its ups and downs, but still good liquid.

IMHO, short term they may go up some as people are stuck at home and starting businesses as a way to make money. At least ones that are pronounceable and brandable. Longer term, who knows.

i agree with a new world of remote work, they will need more websites thus more domain names, and then why not better domain names? :)

456,976 4L.com all registered, all taken gone.

Law of Supply and demand.

Just avoid hyphen #’s. This niche undervalued

and the value can be derived from anywhere.

Acronyms or pronunciations.

Brandables, pronounceables, sensible acronyms - worth buying/holding.
The rest is just freezing money. Liquid? Maybe. Water is liquid, too.

There is genuine demand from corporate China to shorten long 4-pin names -- not every 4L domain though, only those which can fulfill that function.

I predict 4L domains' price reduce to $70 in near future and after that it would rise to $100 again. Some investors may earn from price fluctuations and some may lose. It is like forex and stock trading with its psychological aspects. But in long term I don't see any major rise for them to reach $250-$350 value again.

I recently bought my first 4L.com without hyphen or numbers and I don't see much value in it...

I think, pronunciable 4L will always be in vogue as brandables. I have few 4L and also got few lowball offers but still held them. Will do until good offers come in.

Some domainers must have pronunciation skills that deserve guinness world record recognition.

Who else can pronounce (random examples) QGNT XGML ?

Investing in real pronounceable non misspelled 4L's are great, but good luck finding one priced under 2500

I like Shane Cultra's way of looking at 4L's. If they contain or finish with certain letters, like C for Company or A for Association/America, they might attract some good endusers.

I took that information to heart when I bought my first LLLL.coms. They may not be million dolar domains, but they finish with 'C' so I'll see what happens

But a random collection of letters would be impossible to use as an acronym

I have this OAVQ (Sounds like OAK)

Do you think, it's pronounceable?

Good evening,

This is how I would pronounce this name....O..A..V..Q

It is not pronounceable and certainly doesn't sound anything like OAK as much as you want to believe that it does.

This of course is just my own opinion and you should also seek the opinion of the experts in 4L domain names.

Good luck with your journey.

Regards,
