Popularity of "hub" domains

Spaceship Spaceship

I think "hub" is a good anchor keyword for brands. However, a lot of "hub" domains are already registered - at least the ones that make sense.

I have a couple in my port.

Your thoughts? Do you have any?

I own Fash/Hub[com] Listed in BB, about 4yrs now.
I didn't received any offer for it, I contacted a lot of peoples without any luck.
I know it's a great name and I'm planning to keep it for a long time.

I have ModellHub .com (ModelHub .com SOLD for 6,500 USD in 2011)

Whether you’re modelling or modeling, you’re doing the same thing. The only difference is in the spelling—the one with the single L is preferred in the United States, while the one with two Ls is preferred everywhere else, it’s one of those “United States vs. The Rest of the English-Speaking World” things.

There are plenty of small, interesting (or sometimes annoying) ways the two major variants of the English language—British English and American English—are different. The double L we see in modelling is one of them. This is the preferred spelling in all English-speaking countries apart from the United States.

Variants is one thing, but nobody is thinking of the "ing"... They just see "modell" and wont like or trust that... it's not a short for modelling or modeling. In British.. it is mod·elled, mod·el·ling.... so "mod" is the only short version on both sides of the water...if anything is.

ModelHub works because model is actually a word... Modell is absolute and it's not even a short for modelling.

Modell is Modell's Sporting Goods.

Traveling is the preferred spelling in the U.S. Travelling is the preferred spelling in the UK..right

But Travell is absolete all together. Just because UK use travelling doesn't mean it's short is Travell.

It's gonna be Travel.

Maybe as a verb or pastense..it's used ..Travelling or travelled... But travell(Nope)

And please correct me if i'm wrong anyone... Modell just doesn't make sense IMO

You just cannot compare it to ModelHub.com
Just like how you can't compare TravelHub.com to Travellhub.com

Those are two actual words.. and comparison is miles apart.

Someone once asked appraisal of “Freehub”

I liked it better than “Gifthub” many NPers liked

“Gifthub” seems have kickstarted “hub” niche?

No credit to “Grubhub” :xf.grin:

I have not been able to get my hands on any "Hub" domains, in my casual searches over the years. They are all gone for sometime now. Aftermarket is the only way i think.. What are the names you own?

I rather like Hub, as it can be a great keyword, providing it's paired with another quality word...imo.

I have BeginnerHub.com and PartyRentalHub.com. Used to own PersonalLoanHub.com which I sold a few yrs back.

You're right. Most of the decent to good ones have been gone. I've been searching on and off for the last several years.

Yes, it goes with pretty much any good keyword. And it's very brandable. Look at many of the big brands out there, including hubspot, grubhub, stubhub, github, etc...

Those are definitely great. Grab them when you find them, imo.

Hub is one of my personal favourite suffixes

I only have one - TrakHub.com

More of a brandable for freight, auto industry etc rather than two keywords

bought Nom / Hub from closeouts a while back, listed it on SH recently as thought it'd make a catchy food related brand

When I see hub, my mind first turns to GitHub, "the world's leading software development platform" in their words.

I have tried a couple hand-reg with hub, only a couple, personally.

I think that the degree to which you can have a word that is memorable and a nice fit with the idea of a hub, perhaps with a slight dash of creativity thrown in like the Git was, they can have definite possibilities.

I have not (yet :xf.wink:) researched the numbers, but wonder if this might be one area that the .net and .org hold up their value against .com somewhat better than in general, since the whole idea of a hub implies some sort of organization and network, and least to me.

I registered insuranceshub few months ago (handreg). Honestly I don't know if it's worth something but this combination sounds to me better then a singular version. Handregs for hub are still out there, although if my insuranceshub is worthless then perhaps guys writing above are right.

IMO InsuranceHub.com is much better. The s makes a huge difference in value... One could be 5 figure and the other valued $10

I got SJ/hub/com some time ago, thinking of San Jose, does it make sense?

The first requirement of a successful domainer is a good education.

Hence the difference between model and modell.

What???
