I haven't used them yet but I noticed they have .com for $5.95 and are icann accredited.

I noticed another member has been registering names with them.

Anyone have feedback about them?

@twiki Can you share your experience so far?

hi, u have good support... by email... and you are here too... and some attractive prices on some tlds, without which today a registrar cannot survive or make name for themselves..... so kudos for all this.

however, as much as I love simplicity in all things in life and am a minimalist.. i think you went a bit too far with that with your website/company/interface. yes we can do all a domainer needs to do but for god's sake, I must use my fingers to find out how many names I actually own there.

then do things one by one with dns, or other.... once I'm done counting them.

do you plan to add some more of what is still considered by most as basic functionalities of a registrar, any time very soon?

many thanks.
Exactly and sometimes the simplicity of the website pains me a lot that there is absolutely no two step verification involved in almost everything you do with sav.com, there is no two step verification, there is no email alerts of successful login, no option to remove the payment methods manually, you have to you have them emailed for every tiny bit you want to do with the website, the website pretends to be overly simplified but yet it is so convoluted in the end that you have to seek support for everything @Nick R

I think gave some details into how we do development earlier this in this thread but let me give some insight into it again. We follow an Agile development model which means we release the core functionality of a feature, see how our customers use it, then make iterations to it. This stage of frequent iterations is what are currently in and we push improvements live multiple times per week. An update domain manager with bulk tools is on that todo list as well!

well... but your site is so bare stripped to minimum functionality that i do not understand how or what or for how long you could have been adding new options or iterations to it. i mean there is just so little there. like a skeleton with little muscle.

i mean in the end you are just harming yourself by scaring potential clients away. or do we just basically email you so you can do things on our behalf when lets say someone wants to move 500 names to you and then wants to change say dns on them? or some other option he'd need to do 500 times one by one?

Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with any bulk request and we will see how we can work together to make it happen.

@Nick R is the entire sav.com site down? I've been getting a 504 error for the last 20 minutes.

We are not aware of any issue on the site aside from some improvements were working on within the DNS manager. Are you seeing the CF error on all pages, even www.sav.com?

ok! :)
but those would be things people would probably prefer to know before moving 500 names to you ;)

on a more serious note, plz do get some bulk options going. this is NOT a farfetched request or feature to have on a registrar :)

Thanks to @satmandirkhalsa help, we were able to get to the bottom of this! Due to our auction platform having so many active auctions at the moment, some functions that take more compute power like downloading the Active Auction Export cause an error to be displayed on that page and subsequent pages as well. We are adding more backend resources as we speak to account for this extra volume and that should be complete within an hour. In the meantime, if you get an error page, just open an incognito window which should take care of it.

Simplicity coupled with functionality is great but sav lacks functionality for now.
Let me list down some. you guys can add your pain points too.

1. No 2-FA.
2. No Bulk DNS Settings.
3. No Payment method removal feature.
4. No Watchlist option to access all watchlisted domains in one place.
5. Very few filter options. (Though it works for now)
6. No Afternic Fast Transfer.
Many functionalities can be added from time to time but these are the bare minimum which must be adhered to.

I have 2 backorders and 2 auctioned domains from sav but won't register any at sav for now.

No Paypal pay option.
No Sedo MLS.

there are more imoportant things for sure.. but you know things just aren't okay, when you need to use your fingers to find out how many domains you own on a registrar... come on SAV... its just an ADD function in your code. what is it.. 5 mins of coding? whats 5 minutes of coding against 100s or 1000s of clients counting with their fingers each time?

Hello. We just did a quick push to show the total number of domains in someones account at the top of the My Domains page. You can also set 2FA, and have always been able to, from the My Account tab.

For everything else, we have all of these on the list and look forward to launching them as much as you are to use them!

If I'm not mistaken, your backordering service seems pretty inconsistent. I haven't used it that many times, but in some instances I am able to beat it manually. Other times, it seems pretty quick. Sometimes, it doesn't work at all. Great prices though. I hope you guys continue to improve.

Your 2FA is half baked because it doesn't work with SMSes as of now, now there's no login time out because every time I refresh the page after say 5-6 hours it goes through fine, in fact I never had to log back since I created the account (though, it feels that I might have hit remember me but I am not able to recollect that , so please allow me some time to test that out)

Both Email and SMS are options for 2FA, although SMS is not support in all countries. You may just need to click the dropdown (see attached). There is a time limit on how long a login and 2FA session are valid for though.

My review:

Bulk search fails miserably, unregged names shown as taken.
Though I don't care much about payment methods since I mainly use my card, it seems too restrictive with only 1 payment method and without quick ways to remove an unused card. Doesn't matter Braintree and whatnot, customer perception matters more.
Somehow feels like yet another fancy-ish site with too many slowing-down scripts/codes.
Angering an established escrow (DAN) over a relatively small issue is one thing, but it seems that there's no intention to reconcile?
I thought there was a possibility of selling domains on SAV, but I sure don't find any way to do it. If there was, it's poorly done.
Things/Fixes don't seem to progress much at all after months (based on whatever issues stated here on this thread).

All in all, it gives the feeling of a part-time-registrar created out of a hobby, and I don't mean it in a good way. Not worth risking at the moment just to save a dollar or two on coms.

Until things improve, drastically, I'll be on the fence.

There is, but limited to 20 names and yet with horrible results. And I just realized that they even force you to log in just to search!

hmm i'l look for it... i guess its not so obvious where it is... or maybe im just not so smart lol

staying logged in is fine by me. i prerfer registrars that always keep us logged in.. at least from same device.. wastes less time. so im always logged in on sav. which is cool for me.

If anyone is still trying to find the bulk function, here's the pic for it. Front page screenshot. It's on the same area as the search box. It's slightly easier to find on mobile since they're forced to resize it bigger. Use it at your own risk.

I won't criticize anyone who can't find it, since it's a really bad design. Thin and small fonts with no highlight at all. This kind of thing is why no one should ask for so-called design updates (e.g. Afternic). I would rather have an ugly website that functions perfectly with easy-to-find buttons than to have a fancy modern website that fails to perform along with hard-to-find buttons. This also reminds me of the modern-day entertainment/gaming industry where companies nowadays sacrifice just about everything just for the sake of high tech graphics/cgi with no more good storytelling/comedy/etc. Nothing but graphics.

got it thanks
actually all i ever did on sav was operate the tabs like my domains (my starting link)... etc,,, so all i ever saw was that small input line on top that said to enter one domain to reg at a time.

if i am not mistaken, it seems the ONLY way to see what u showed is to click on SAV logo... to go to home screen... well... i just never went there... there is no possibility of reaching bulk reg any other way i think..not the most intuitive of designs i suppose... as just about all registrars I deal with show the bulk link on same page or next to a single domain reg input window.... maybe its something sav can add also @Nick R ............... its just a tiny link next to the domain search window that says BULK... and goes to same page as from homepage.. should be about 156.33 seconds to code it.......... ty for clarifying

Another thing: If you win an auction and your card could not be charged, then they'll cancel the auction rather than giving the winner time to pay for the order.
What kind of logic is that?
Beware, guys.
I was happy overall with the service and support (though it was bad) but don't think I'll be using sav after this.

After communicating with @Nick R , a few emails and calls, the card got charged and the domain is being transferred to the account.
BTW, they are updating this in the near future as this may scare off users.
