@LaszloSchenk
it was so cool before when we opened a sale or offer window in middle of screen, and then could click anywhere outside that window to close it...

well suddenly lately this was disabled.. and now we gotta find the little X to close the window... much less efficient etc.. i think you get the picture.

any chance you can bring back the old method? im sure we just all got used to it. please?

Good morning Alcy,

The product team was notified and requested to revert this straight away.

Have a great week.

I'd like to suggest a feature...

A few assumptions: Many people are suggesting tweaks to landing pages, and I imagine DAN wants to go with whatever gets the best conversions rates for us. I'd imagine decisions about changes to the landing pages are based on real-world data, but I'd also imagine that this data is kind of limited before implementing the changes.

Does DAN do any kind of split-testing for landing pages before implementing changes? For example, when adding the seller boxes to everyone's landers, was that just a guess that it would perform better and increase buyer trust, or was it backed up by data?

Whatever the answer is, my suggestion is to have an option where sellers can opt-in for a "beta test" of sorts, where DAN can test out different tweaks in the landers of those who opt-in. When there's enough data on any of these tests to show with confidence that they can increase sales, they could be added to the standard landing pages for everybody. This gives an opportunity to appease people's suggestions without rolling it out across the entire site to see how well the suggestions perform, and ultimately to gather as much data as possible to have the best-performing landers in the industry.

split testing done in a perfect world
would mean to do a separate LP for separate countries aka languages

I highly doubt that the same perfect LP created for the US
will perform best in Germany as well

support request taking to much time
it doesn't actually matter if it's within your working hours or not
when they take too much time
its independently from your working hours

they take too much time

by far too much time

same may apply to sedo and other marketplaces
still, that doesn't change the fact that it takes too much time

they take too much time whatever the reason is

they take too much time. period.

@frank-germany I agree, and having people volunteer to participate in those tests from all around the world, I think would be the best way to get closer to the perfect world.

I wonder why DAN needs to hire support staff in USA in order to match USA business hours, is there no night shift where they are located? I saw a comment about how it's time-consuming to hire USA-based support staff.

Why can't some members of the existing support staff work a shift outside of typical local business hours?

There's a hotel down the street from me, they're open 24/7. They have some people who work mornings, some people who work the middle shift, and some people who work overnight. By staggering their shifts, they could have staff that still live local to DAN, working to serve customer in every timezone.

Instead of, say, 6 support staff all working during normal local to DAN business hours, why not have 2 in the morning, 2 in the middle of the day, 2 overnight? Maybe 1 shift over the weekend, too. That way a buyer who has a question on Friday doesn't have to wait until Monday, or a seller who needs support, etc. It seems like it would be easier to just hire someone local to work a different shift, rather than trying to hire someone on another continent if it's causing delays? This seems to be one of the biggest requests - more flexible support. Just saying "we work during regular business hours" doesn't help when those business hours are the opposite of the business hours of many buyers and sellers, imo.

Just my 0.02 tho. I like DAN a lot, I think they're my favorite platform so far.

it's an ancient view of the world
originating from the pre-internet 24/7/360 world

European are used to have closed doors at certain time frame

I guess these companies earn too much

adopt guys
before a competitor does

( applicable to sedo even more )

do you really want to lose your business to epik??????????

Thanks for this perspective, I wouldn't have considered that.

In Canada for example, some people prefer the evening or night shifts. A student can go to university during the day, and then work at customer support at night, or somebody who likes to sleep during the day can work the overnight shift, etc. I had a friend who moved here from Nigeria and he would work the overnight shift, and then attend school during the day, and then sleep during the evening.

But anyways, hopefully Dan is listening because quick support seems to be one of the biggest issues people have, even if they say tickets get responded to within 24 hours, it still often ends up being "the next day" for a lot of us. I think a very responsive support staff will do more to help sales than landing page tweaks, etc.

@LaszloSchenk

How long does it normally take for SSL to go into effect for new domains added? I added a domain to portfolio yesterday and the https:// is still not working (browser error "security risk") The http:// works fine.

Thanks

Good morning all,

It is true that we aim to have as many escrow accounts with as many registrars as possible in order to provide the most optimal service. However, we will never enter into an official collaboration with SAV as they are an unreliable registrar. Personal experience dealing with them lead to this decision. In addition, it is true that they also copy our product in full and till date still proceed doing this regardless of actions taken.

We do not aim to collaborate with registrars that do not have a long term future within this market. @alcy, I do not recommend proceeding indeed but the advise is based on what we have experienced while dealing with them.

Have a great day.

Thank you for the heads up. I will keep this in mind going forward. Perhaps you can elaborate more?

As unfortunately, due to your comment, I will be removing all my domains from DAN.com.

Best of luck with your continued growth, and/or future acquisition. Politics aside, you guys have truly built a great product at Dan.com!

Good morning @Peak.Domains,

I trust you are doing well.

Thank you for the feedback granted. We do base all our feature updates or released on actual data gathered. For example, the seller boxes got tested and initially got built as we noticed trust was a key issue before a buyer proceeded with conducting the payment. Since the release of the seller boxes, the go through rate is increased and the number of wary customers decreased significantly.

Regardless, I do think your proposal is feasible and will make sure to discuss this internally.

Have a great day!

Good morning @frank-germany & @Peak.Domains,

Currently, we are getting the same statements quite frequently posted here. We have indicated to be working on this. It is not as simple as it sounds. The comparison made with a hotel is like comparing apples and oranges. Finding representatives of the same quality currently, present who are willing to operate between 22:00 and 08:00 in the morning is fairly impossible. We want to maintain the same standard of quality during the night as opposed to during business hours.

We are aware that the 24/7 coverage is needed and we are working towards this.

Have a great day.

Good morning @Maxxo,

Once the nameservers are altered the SSL certificates are generated within 48 hours on average.

Have a great day!

Good morning @BrandCollectors.com,

Thank you for notifying us.

I have made sure to test it this morning but I am required to confirm my email before an offer is approved.

Could you PM me and describe the situation you have experienced?

@LaszloSchenk
any chance at all u can consider implementing a payout withhold option until seller basically tells you to pay... whether thst would add up to just 1 delayed payment.. or 2.. or 10 etc..

godaddy auctions does it. dont get me wrong im not askin u to become godaddy, cause sometimes i mention them.. im just mentioning them to say its possible and you'd not be alone.. and in my case, it would be a useful additional payout option for your clients.. and one which would not be imo very hard to implement for you.

u do not even need to show this "credit" in our account.. but you could do like epik (another one that does this), and just basically show account credit.. and if u'd like to take it step further, people could also use this to buy domains if they want, on dan.com.

would u consider plz? or maybe on your to do list? ty

Hi Alcy,

This is one of the most requested features in our backlog and we build 100% of all features that make it to our top 10 most requested features. The legal side of offering this is now being taken care of and the development will start soon.

With the new redesign of the DAN seller back office, we're launching this new feature. So soon, you will get the sale price rewarded in your DAN account and you can decide what to do with the funds. You could pay out 50% via Paypal for example and 50% via ACH or a Wire. You can also decide to keep the funds and buy or register domains with it (maybe even at a discount - we'll return a part of our commission to the buyer in that case) for example.

Kind regards,

Reza

thats great news. thanks. i thought id not be the first one to ask for it :)
just to confirm, once this credit option is implemented, a payout to btc at any point we want would also be one of those options you mention right? whether its 50% to btc, or 100% etc...

if u do not mind sharing, sorry if already answered before, but this new redesign of dan as you call it, is it for 2020, or 2021, 2022? ty again for sharing.

@DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk Can you please tone down on the JavaScripts (or ? coding)?

Sometimes I need to access DAN via mobile browser and I don't have a high spec phone.

At first, long ago, accessing DAN is a breeze.

Then, initially the dashboard page couldn't load properly off and on but refreshing works (with "unresponsive script" message or something like that), so I didn't think of complaining since it still works.

Now I can't finish loading at all so no way I can respond to any chat window via mobile browser. Had to wait until I can access my desktop just to reply all the messages.

Tried different browsers but all didn't work on mobile. Even the front page is hard to load and doesn't load properly in the end.

So currently I can only access DAN via desktop which isn't good because I don't always have access to a desktop, except during off-office hours like now.

Please fix the script/coding/etc.

===================================

On a separate matter, I noticed I could no longer close a chat window by clicking outside the window, forcing me to click the x button which is way too close to the delete chat button. It's now too easy to accidentally delete a crucial and ongoing deal, not something I want to happen at all. If I ever accidentally delete the chat, can I restore it back?
Both issues seem to be fixed for now, thanks @DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk !!
