What is the algorithm that you follow as a domain name investor?

Here is mine:

Research --> Hand register--> Park on Afternic/Sedo --> Outbound for 3-4 domains with Afternic link --> Close a sale(if any) --> Take out the investment and reinvest the profits --> Repeat and build a portfolio

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
In my case it is little diff. as all my sales come from inbound and a little portion from brokers.

1. Research properly.
2. Negotiate & buy in less so you have safety margin.
3. Marketplace listing.
4. Assess the trends, news, recent sales & pricing.
5. Promotion.
6. Quarterly review.
7. Renew or drop.
8. If sells buy a better name and build you portfolio.
9. Repeat the same.

Note : Always take some short names for urgent liquidation.

Horde till have the target industry then name price. Doesn't always work but flukes to be had. Looking at different approach same concept refraining from third fourth best choices avoiding leftovers. I would like to be adjusting domain keyword prices rather than following them.

If your names are high quality, you don't need promotions I think. Buyers will come to you.

Social media platforms, domaining groups, dsad similar, etc. may be done.

keep checking all sold names on sales thread here and namebio daily.
keep reading np various topics.
chekc expireddomains.net for various tlds and keywords of interest and research.
reg some names mostly from there.
sometimes buy names from dyna expired, or gd expired...
post all names on gd auctions, sedo, afternic. in that order only.
wait for offers or sales.

remember that domaining success takes months or years of hard work and is directly proportional to our time and often money invested into it. and there is no such thing as quick easy money in domaining. like in most things in life.

what are good domain Drop list websites?
I noticed that the same person is picking up some of my expired domains and I wonder if he/she is using drop list websites or somehow tracking my purchases on whois?
I think Drop lists would be a good research place. Is there also a way to look at old traffic to domains?

Research - handreg (mostly Geos)- list at Dan, afternic and sometimes GD and Epik - outbound - follow up - sale (if any)- reinvest a fraction of the profit.

I don't reinvest back much because I'm not about to build a quality portfolio, as I'm only 9mnths into domaining, i believe I'll need more experience to start building a folio.

For the meantime however, I'm building a Brandable portfolio at SH

But on social media, do you think you get end users? I think it is only for domainers.

So far, so good to me. I don't know about any apparent issues

Run my tools daily. Fiddle through a shortlist (ever shorter as the tools get better). List on Afternic.

Can't disclose though what the tools' algo is.
