TM Issues recently i saw a name similar to Mars dot br
The owner had an idea to pitch their similar name to large company like Mars Inc.
Now they are well with in their rights to put a price on it an wait and it isn't even a bad idea
but to find a broker to sell it would be impossible due to few reasons.
Now if they never pitch it they can sell it if approached for what they like.
If pitched they will say hey we have a TM on Mars and similar names and your trying to benefit
hand it over. So I mention this and get ignored and their moving on to find another to take it on
again similar name scenario and concept with similar weak extension. Now the name would suit mars dot br and the keyword Mars could be used for lots of things without a worry in world. Now nothing wrong with selling a Mars keyword but i wouldn't advise pitching it to Mars as they won't see it the same. I just don't make the rules up I have just watched it all unwind. Think of great name and some Company tries to TM it on you after the event etc is a different case altogether. Like to hear whether since not your problem if as a broker would you give them a pitch to Mars. Chocbar caramel and more could be pitched without an issue. If your going to pitch to a brand pitch their generic word names to them not their own brand.
