a tool that will give you an appraisal of a domain in the next 10 years What will be, so you will not let good domains expire's.

GoDaddy API access.

They allow people to use this API to essentially flash-purchase domains as they enter closeout. Some people are even selling their API access as a 'service' to snipe domains.

However, GoDaddy will not allow people to have this access as they 'discontinued' giving out access. Except, people that already have access use it to beat out people.

It's extremely unfair and I've never seen a company allow such an overwhelming advantage to people without allowing everyone to have the same access.

AFAIK they have only temporarily stopped giving out new access while they redo their API. I asked [email protected] and this was their response:

Unfortunately, we are still working on adding the new API accounts. We hope we will offer this service, however we believe it will be not available until Q2 (summer) 2020 at the earliest.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I for one intend to start using it when it becomes avalible again. If you can't beat them, join them.

Thanks for your feedback but this is not true nor is it accurate, because they lie and most reps don't even know what the auctions API is so they have to ask a senior member that passes on the lies to the newbie rep. I've had this conversation with them a few times...

They stopped giving access years ago, on or around June 2017.

So three years is not "temporarily".

They have been working on this "new and improved" API for three years.

They will also miss their Q2 target, and they will blame it on whatever they can to allow legacy accounts to keep profiting from the GD auctions API.

It's crooked in my opinion.

I've just checked my past email correspondence.

Here is the response I received on Feb 28, 2017:

"Our development staff is in the middle of a complete rebuild of the auction interface. Unfortunately, as part of the rebuild, we are not able to accept new API customers at this time. We hope to have the rebuild completed by the end of the summer. Please check back from time to time to see if you are eligible at that time."

On Sep 14, 2017, I asked "Has anything changed in terms of API access?":

"Thank you for contacting AfterMarket Support. Not as yet.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance."

Joe has already talked about this all over the forum at length. IMO he's gone above and beyond trying to rectify this abysmal decision by whoever is at the top of the chain.

He is an incredible member of the GD team, but this just seems to be the policy.

I've just never seen a platform anywhere only allow certain people access to something that gives such a significant advantage.

Which it does... It's not the entire solution, but it's part of a solution that allows people to snipe the most valuable closeout domains.

Otherwise, your just going to have to fight it out with HD at auction.

EDIT:
There is a lot that GoDaddy as a company does on their backend that is questionable. Did you know that GoDaddy uses a cookie to track every auction that you have viewed in your session?

There is so many shady things that a platform could do with that information.

Imagine you are a top auction bidder, and they can see that you are looking at 4-5 "high value" auctions. You can imagine where this goes from there...

Good point Samer. People, do a cost benefit analysis. If it's a monthly charge, determine how much time it will save that you can put into other aspects of your business that will then help to increase revenue. You either have time or you have money. If you need something free than use that brain @biggie was referring to and combine a few free tools.

Personally, for me, geo Godaddy tool, which would fetch a name of all the geo domain names available, after you've entered a particular keyword would show up.

That was one of the coolest tool I used so far, which helped me with my domaining needs, saving hours of effort.

I would have replied to that response. So when is the expected changed to Auction API access going to be finalized? First it was after Summer. Now when will it be completed? I absolutely HATE such dismissive replies that tell you nothing.

A domain expiry, registrar, birthdate, etc... monitor tool, the GD one is garbage. Might look into making one.

A tool which shows whether the bidder is an enduser or a broker, and if it is a broker, I want email of the enduser.

A tool which shows whether my email was read.

A tool which gives me email of the person who makes decisions in a company.
