I applied the privacyplease promo code at Name.com after i added whois privacy, and it left me to pay 32 cents for what appears to be "Advanced Security" features that come with the privacy protection.

Is this add-on something new with Name.com? Seems you can't get rid of it, even if you don't need it. And the privacyplease promo code does not appear to cover this.

Hello,

We apologize for any confusion. By using the privacyplease promo code, you will receive up to one year of privacy protection free of charge. However, if the domain's date of expiration exceeds the one year mark, you will be prompted to pay the pro-rated difference at the time of checkout.

We have also included instructions below that will guide you through removing Advanced Security.

If there is anything else that we may be able to assist you with, please email us at [email protected]!

Best Regards,

@name.com Is Advanced Security free for bulk users? It's really just using 2FA when updating domains, which shouldn't cost anything I think.

I think name.com should free this service.
Same as the registrar:
namesilo
dynadot
namecheap
google domains
....

Paying for whois protection is lame in 2020. Money waste. That should be free.
