In the meantime looks like this is leaning more towards a crypto showcase thread now.

Hi,

There is many work involved for each domain name appraised, and it takes many of my time especially that this days it is limited for my daily work and family.

But from time to time I will try to do my best in order to follow up my appraisal in the order that they are posted and by escaping some of them if I see no value (Of course on my own opinion only , you can also make a thread to have review from other experienced domainers).

First thing I would check is the domain name: CryptoExpert.org

Someone is selling it at: 4995$

.org extension is used widely for open source projects in the crypto world or to build a community (Forum etc.).

After that, I will go for known keywords used in this niche: Coin, Chain etc.

So, if your clients find the price high, they will look for alternatives like:

What is the goal of this domain name ? What it can serve in the future ?

By the name, I understand that it offer to create/host/... ethereum websites.
OR
The official ethereum website which is not the case
A directory of ethereum related websites, services etc.just like (acceptbitcoin.cash)
As it can be used for news about ethereum events etc.

But the first suggestion is better and will give too much value for the domain name.

I already seen vitalik (funder of ethereum) posted something on twitter about a possibility to host a website in the ethereum blockchain... worth to check this info and make some searches about it.

Actually there is not too much users that use it for that purpose, and they mostly host on IPFS otherthan ethereum to not abuse it.

I will estimate it personally between: [LOW XXX$]-[MID XXX$] for end user - for now (if there is no change, worth to save it for more years to get more values).

@TheBuyerz what's your pulse on entire extension based on blockchain, eg., the .crypto extension? Does it null and void anything else, or are we still looking at relevance in the ICANN-controlled namespace area? I mean, you have to think, the .crypto is the solution that this has all been headed towards, whereas continuing down the old-school DNS format negates it..in a step-backwards sort of way.

Agreed that this technology is the future, but actually we are far away for it to happen now, there is a long way to go ... people need first to be familiarized with cryptocurrencies and find an easy way to use them without being technical.

We can shorten the path if the major web browsers also support the new extensions and follow up Opera (In case of unstoppable domains), it is difficult to convince people to use another browser that works well for them over a years so they change their habits and comes to use a technology they don't understand, switching to another traditional extension is already a big thing.

This will be just like when Bitcoin launched the first time ... it took up to 10 years before we can hear about it everywhere (TV, Big Medias etc.) and reaching almost 5.8 million unique users in 2017... even with that, people stay worried to adopt it because "change" scares them!

If you want to invest on this new extensions is the right time now... before the mass adoption. (We just have to be patient).
