My mind was roaming through some things pertaining to DOMAINING
And I started asking myself what is the next Big thing to come.

Back in the days no one new of blockchain
Or crypto but today we all know,
The early domain investors that are always on alert, got paid handsomely

What about the Libra era that is still in the air
Well all the 1st tier name pertaining to Libra has also gone to those that got early info.

We have seen so many era and probably most of us new starters missed out

Now am hoping on the future,
I really wish to hit the jackpot when the next big thing opens up like a flower

Jackpot like the owner of blockchain.com had before it blew.

So let's discuss what in your opinion from the way the world is changing is gonna be the next big thing.

For me i think 5G will be the next big thing
Whoever got 5G.com would be very lucky by then.

Lets hear your opinions:xf.grin: and make this fun

Quantum in the cloud, but long-term.

Vegan domains have been selling at a premium for a while. I still think that is a strong growth area.

Quantum in the cloud, but long-term.

Agreed, quantum seems like a good play long term.

And I saw automation was mentioned earlier also. Bots are here already and will only keep growing.

I don't buy the idea of IOT too...

am looking at cyber+keyword trend coming up since after the launch of cyber truck I has been buzzing, and the domain was in transfer process as at yesterday,.

Tesla confirmed 146,000 pre-order within short period of time, I am guessing most company will follow that trend of "cyber+keyword" maybe cyberdrone.com and lot more

Also by next year, CBG will dominate the industry, as more investors are beginning to realize how important CBG is.

So is important will save up some CBG related domain, most are already gone although, but still good ones to pick though.

I see

Cyber+keyword
&
CBG

Hi all! I’m a big advocate of doing the research, then even more research to make educated guesses as to what the next big breakthrough market will be. I’ve focused heavily on one in particular but also dabbled in others.

Current/developing: AGV’s in a warehouse setting also in aviation, manufacturing, you name it!

Near future: psilocybin/psychedelic domain names. I fully believe this will be a hugely lucrative market in the next few years, the evidence is finally coming out now and there are many newly developed domains popping up every day!

Distant future: this is the hardest to predict obviously. You can go pretty much any way with it, I threw my hat in the ring with metalenses and metasurface optical related names. If the trend takes off it has the potential to revolutionise optics.

These are the niches I am fully on board with after the research I have done. Time will tell what becomes of them :)

People have always attempted to predict the next big thing and then get in on it before everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. Very few people do this successfully because of two major limitations: the exponential rate of technological change experienced since World War II is mind-blowing literally and you do not just have to be smart enough to see the changes, you have to be smarter and quicker than everyone else. With that being said, these are my thoughts.

Humanity is on the precipice of a new era of technological change that will fundamentally alter the way that we live our lives. I believe 5G and artificial intelligence will be the vanguard technologies that allow for and shape the development of:

- edge computing

- AR/VR/XR wearables

- complex genetic editing

- Advanced haptic/4D/full immersion technology

- smarter sex tech and teledildonics

- IoT everywhere and in everything

- FinTech/DeFi

and perhaps even true artificial general intelligence (AGI).

Again, this is only my opinion. You can also throw darts at a dart board and potentially be just as accurate. We shall see as we enter this new decade.

Well I got 2 of those rolled into one.

Here's hoping

The next big thing has been the next big thing for over a year. PLANTBASED food is the hottest market worldwide.
I currently own over 100 PLANTBASED .COM domain name's , all for sale.
The next big thing happened 23 year's ago in the automotive industry when ENGINEKITS.COM became a household name after shipping to over 23 countries and all 50 State's.
ENGINEKITS.COM may be up for sale in the very near future with a $100,000 opening bid.

I like the data labeling niche.

With all of the new tech out there, ai, vr etc., there is a giant need for labeled data all across the board. GOOD labeled data.

Reading about it was pretty interesting. Companies either have to purchase quality data or produce their own which is extremely time consuming. If producing their own, it begins with the basics, for example:

this is a picture of a dog, this is a picture of a puppy, and on and on.

You only get good results if the data used is reliable.

No doubt biotech is the next big thing. A multibillion biotech market is rapidly growing, a number of breakthrough technologies are already here: super fast and efficient DNA sequencing, novel gene therapy, smooth gene editing.
I have amazing dna.software and gene.tools domains

Came across an interesting one today.

Microsoft’s patent for a Cryptocurrency system that uses body activity data.

patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/detail.jsf?docId=WO2020060606

The patent is quite broad regarding applications and all they have is flow charts and some bla about blockchain.

Examples of body radiation emitted from human body may include radiant heat of the body, pulse rate, or brain wave. Brain waves may comprise, for example, but not limited to, (i) gamma waves, involved in learning or memory tasks, (ii) beta waves, involved in logical thinking and/or conscious thought, (iii) alpha waves, which may be related to subconscious thoughts, (iv) theta waves, which may be related to thoughts involving deep and raw emotions, (v) delta waves, which may be involved in sleep or deep relaxation, or (vi)

For me, its the definition, or lack thereof, of a 'user device' and a 'sensor' for or in that device. So what is considered a device or sensor today? VR/AR Glasses?

Interested to hear anyone’s thoughts on possible applications.

A wearable mining app comes to mind by using body sensors to correlate real world actions to mining vs. raw computer power.
