Having relatives and friends scattered all over the globe, I am getting an overload of input (some on the record and some off the record).

My intention for this thread is for community members from around the world to post first hand stories and/or links to information sources that, for the most part, should be reliable.

In my community, just outside a major southeastern city, 'assets' have been placed. Only because I have friends in both high and low places have I heard about some of this. At this point it is only some basic medical supplies that should be equally distributed anyway in preparation for a natural emergency (hurricane/wildfire/etc.).

I will start with posting a link to a site with current data that seems to come from an aggregate of sources and hope others will do the same as they come across similar sites/pages.

Because of the 'typhoid Mary' spread-ability of this disease, I feel we may be in for a really large spread globally which will impact the global economy and through extension, retail domain prices.

One thing is for sure...things will get worse before they get better.

NYPD commissioner: “We are scrambling” but still fighting crime

As of Wednesday morning, more than 1,400 NYPD employees have tested positive for coronavirus, a law enforcement source tells CNN.

6,172 uniformed officers -- about 17% of the police department -- are out sick, according to the source.

“It has been a clearly a difficult time for New York City as a whole. The message is to all New Yorkers that we're all in this together,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said to CNN’s Jim Sciutto.

Shea said the NYPD is in “a constant state of planning” to respond to the coronavirus in the city and among officers.

“We are scrambling, but that shouldn’t have a negative connotation. We are able to handle many, many different tasks here. We’re still fighting crime,” Shea said, adding that officers are on patrol, as well as delivering food and calling domestic violence survivors.

“Right now, we're in good shape in New York City. But the bottom line is anyone that can help will be asked upon to help to keep people safe,” Shea said when asked if state police may provide backup to city police in the future.

NOTE: When I posted one week ago, the numbers were:
- 236 NYPD employees tested positive
- 3,200 police officers are out sick, which is just about 9% of the entire NYPD.

In one week, the % out sick has nearly doubled, and the positive cases have risen from 236 to over 1,400.

So, at this rate......... this has potential to become a real problem, soon.

By registering ships in the Bahamas, Panama and other countries, cruise companies can avoid U.S. taxes as well as employment and environmental laws. Now the Coast Guard is telling those companies that their ships should seek medical care in the countries where they are registered, rather than rely on the U.S."

New York hospital system says 470 employees have coronavirus; ICUs 85% full

Northwell Health, the largest health care system in the state of New York, told CNN that about 470 employees have tested positive for Covid-19.

Northwell Health spokesperson Terence Lynam said the hospital system has had more than 2,400 Covid-19 patients in their hospitals, with an additional 3,600 hospitalized patients who were either waiting to be tested or waiting for results. ICUs are currently 85% full.

The company employs about 72,000 people.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to work out at Supreme Court private gym, her trainer says

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is continuing her workouts at the Supreme Court gym during the coronavirus pandemic, according to her longtime personal trainer.

Bryant Johnson, Ginsburg's trainer, told the news outlet Law360 on Tuesday that Ginsburg, 87, and a four-time cancer survivor, does not want to stop her sessions.

well that wouldn';t be a bad plan would it... keep people locked at homes in fear, so they never find out its all fake and acting in the hospitals etc... well that'd be some pretty good acitng then ... doctors.. nurses... and all others!

and hire crisis actors

If this truly was the plague of doom the flickering boxes say it is, we would all know several people who were killed by this plague of doom.

im open to all possibilities... govt is capable of anything we al saw it in history..
but they gonna be in some deep crap if 7 billion people find out this is all a lie. (as in prove it).

I mean its one thing to hire some actors and fake I dunno... the boston marathon bomb explosion or some shooting.. but this is global.. affected 7 billion people.. so ya.. u better know what your doing out there on top when you do this to people.

Hey .X. I probably dislike the Chinese government even more than you, but no point in putting out news that has NOT be proven as correct, YET or maybe NEVER...

well, those are facts, the point is, that the Chinese have been caught with these virus in tow to another country, rather it was 1 , 2, or 3 years ago doesn’t matter, it takes time to make a biological weaponized virus I would think, would you??? They didn’t just run into lab mix up a concoction and say, ok it’s made, every incident , and I posted two incidents where Chinese scientists were caught with virus trying to come into the US, which is damned relevant to rather China released a biological weaponized virus. When people travel with such things, they have to be documented by governmental agencies., if not, it is smuggling , smuggling means someone is trying to breach the government, when people smuggle, they usually do it for a reason that is not good.

I would like to hear your explanation for such acts @GILSAN
