I'm not the kind of guy following people, same on NP, but I noticed some NP members dropping off the radar lately. Less posts, or none at all. It got me thinking. This virus isn't gonna skip the domaining community.

We're all pretty much occupied with the Corona Pandemic. Lots of threads and info regarding this. I get this is a professional/business forum but sometimes we forget to ask the most important question in times like this.

How are you doing personally? Are your safe? How is your situation? Are you ok? Do you feel anxious, depressed, isolated? Are you in good health? Your loved ones?

Without getting into much detail it would be nice if people would simply check in. A simple "I'm ok!" would do. If you want to elaborate, feel free to do so. In times like this communities are there to support each other. No matter your difference in opinion, morals, ethics or believes. Some kind words may just be what somebody needs in his current situation. Please keep this uplifting and avoid any negativity towards others. There are plenty of other threads if you're interested in stirring the pot.

That being said, I'm a religious man so if your personal situation calls for additional dicussion and support from likeminded people, feel free to participate in this thread and share your concerns,or just hang out. Any religion really. Let's not be narrowminded but stand united as human beings, and domainers ;).

Personally, I'm worried, but ok. Been a tough week but as long as I'm in good health and my loved ones are safe I can only be thankful.

Lots of love!

The story of my life can be summed up in two words "Self Isolation" :xf.grin:

So it doesn't matters much. Problem is that when it is forced isolation it sucks. Earlier it was just due to work and lifestyle that I used to live in self isolation.

My only worries right now is food and tobacco supplies. (Usually not a big deal)

Leaving my family members aside I can live in one room for next 5 years and you won't hear me complain about it. :xf.laugh:

Thanks for starting this thread @NameDeck.

Last Monday my part-time job was determined to be non-essential, so my hours were cut from 4 hours a day to two. I'm answering the phones from home, which is working out fine. It allows me to do my domain work, etc., while on the clock.

Morning walks, contact with friends, and activity on NamePros are helping me stay sane.

Every forum needs one, especially if they want to be a bit more of a tight-knit community! Let NamePros goers see who they chat with on a daily basis.

I'm a bit shy, so I won't post mine quite yet. If you'all do though, it might encourage me to!

Cheers

Nice Idea! I'm not very photogenic so I'll pass for now. Maybe if I loose the beard. Not sure if my daughter would recognize me without :)

Times are changing, especially now. There's also a thread encouraging people to change their handle to their real name. Now might be the right time.

And thanks to everyone responding! I appreciate it. Maybe I'm growing soft but it's good to hear people are doing ok. Even if they're 'faceless' to me.

Not too long ago someone reached out to me through whois privacy proxy after I shared some personal issues. You know who you are. Appreciated it! Also got to talk to a domainer getting a hard time who shared some of his personal situation. We don't always get along but these personal conversations bring things into perspective.

I can relate to that. Back in the day (I'm not that old but still :) ) I could easily isolate myself for a month to be working on something to get things done.

Then I got married :) nah, but seriously, yeah the being forced to thing sucks. I'm used to working at home and although I have a nice yard to spend some time I'm an outside person so I miss that 'liberty' to just be able to go everywhere.

As for smoking, now might be the right time to quit. Do as I say, not as I do if you get what I mean ;)

I am ok. I work a 28/28 rotation. I am on time-off at the moment. So, self isolating is no issue.

But, I am meant to return to work next week but I don't think that's feasible right now as the government here in Nigeria is placing practically everything on lockdown.

That means my colleague will be stuck at work (it's an offshore oil rig) with no way of going home while I will be stuck at home. All thanks to Corona.

I hope things look up soon.

Glad you're doing okay @FolioTeam. I've never been on an oil rig, but it seems the quarters might be kind of tight? Maybe you're better off being stuck at home for now.

Life is good! Thanks for asking.
The entire family is home 24/7 and it isn't nearly as bad as I feared it was going to be. They leave me alone during the day for the most part. I have a woman who gives me the right dose of nagging, a son who gets on my nerves just enough and a dog who's the perfect kind of clingy. I feel very fortunate. :xf.smile:

Sounds like we have everything in common except I have a daughter instead of a son ;).

Glad to hear you're ok!

Scared. Feel like a caged animal. Doesn't matter whether at home or out on the front lines, feel trapped either way. Battle against an invisible adversary. All I can do from freaking out sometimes, is let the rivers run.

This might define new norms for us, going forward. We have to prepare for that. In the meantime, my family are ok and health is good. I appreciate that.

Be strong. Don't let fear be your guide in these times. Squash it with courage. Know that you are not alone.

Thanks for reaching out at all of us, NameDeck.
