Hello,
I'm writing a book in French about domain names and there's of course a part dedicated to domaining.
US domainers are famous and it's a market on which information is easily available.
I would like to mention the major players in Europe with a few words about their business models, but I'm sure I'm missing some.
I guess that Kalin from Tool.domains and Ivo from Sonexo are good examples of innovative models. I've got a few others in the French and Spanish markets.
Is there any domain owner (person or company) with a prominent position in European domaining?
thanks

Sedo.de was first to really start to sell used domains and practically created the second hand market. Germany is where domains really took off.

Do you mean that Sedo owns domains ? Do you know how large is its portfolio?
I remember that its sister company Domcollect did have domains ripped off from 1and1 clients, but I'm unsure they are still much active

I see him more as a broker for liquid domains. I don't think that he owns so many domains in European language. Or I'm wrong?

So nobody knows any European Mike Mann-like, with a large portfolio?
There might be some major domainers in Gernany, right?

Would 40k-45k domains be considered a large portfolio?

I think Luc that you definitely belong to the group of the largest domainers in Europe, and probably the biggest in the French-speaking community
But, if my memory serves well, some 10 years ago, 1 or 2 german domainers have much larger portfolios
I'm unsure about that and dont' know if they are still active
