well.... im gonna estimate this to be about 1 month old rule.. that we can no longer add .biz names to gd auctions... it sure seems like .biz is going all weird in many ways.. first we all noticed how they are somehow reserving many expired names... not rereleasing for registration....

the msg u get when adding to gd, seems basically indentical to when tryin to add a premium .co domain.. except in case of .biz seems to apply to all .biz names.

i am by no means suggesting people should buy .biz.. cause they do not really sell.. but im sure most of us have a few of them in the folios.. so this is probably going to come as some suprise when they're denied on gd like this.

i've not had success tagging @Joe Styler lately.. but if he is still around these forums perhaps he can clarify... i also assume this would imply the end of seeing any and all expired auctions on the .biz tld?

cheers

Maybe it has something to do with how .biz is about to change it’s business plan, and the way it will invoke premiums, and other measures. Otherwise lack of demand, not sure as it doesn’t hurt them to have them listed, so must be bigger reason to delist.

I would avoid .biz like the plague given the direction the registry is heading. I always thought it was a bit underrated past few years, but commercial demand is dismal 3L.biz hold very little weight, and generic one word .biz can be purchased for sub $500, just use afternic with bin pricing, or direct landers that offer instant checkout with bin pricing.

As stated above given the direction this registry is headed I hope domainers take notice, and boycott .biz all together.

I've been trying very hard to drop ALL my .BIZ domains, but there are still a few persons names domains I'm having a hard time to let go. I hope to have dropped more than 95% of them by year's end. I still wouldn't say no to sex.biz :)

.biz is not popular anyways had some good short ones, was selling cheap, no buyers so had to let them drop.

Plenty of extensions you can register at Godaddy but cannot advertise for resale.

Does not EXPLICITLY forbids registry to charge different prices initial registrations.

biz cost up to $10,500 then $12.63 years 2-10.
For once, i dont blame Godaddy.

When info also gets premium,
Will ban .info GD auctions too?

for sure.. but my point here was that you could advertize biz before.
you must be refering to extensions you were never able to sell.

Added to the list really of what you can't.

Yes recently, last week I believe on Friday we stopped allowing new .biz auction listings. It is because of the premium domain status the registry added using multiple tiers for the domain name. It will act similarly to .co in that sense. We are looking into ways to allow more tlds with tiers to be added in the future.
I have not been around the forum for a while because of some personal reasons. If you cannot get in touch with me here [email protected] should be able to assist you quickly.
