Paint your BS how ever you want but people who listen to Trump were wrong.
You and Trump only cared about being right and not about the safety of others.

And you were out in front leading the way.

For shame.

You're an arrogant jerk. Thing will get better faster than you like.

Being happy a pandemic is worse than expected, worse than reported by 98% of media because you want to be right and the President to fail is the most liberal thing I've read in this thread.

Remember, when the President was taking action, these degenerates were calling him racist and xenophobic. Now they are cheering because America has more reported deaths than China.

.@BilldeBlasio on coronavirus:

FEB. 14: "This should not stop you…from going to Chinatown & going out to eat"

MARCH 13: "We want people still to go on about their lives."

TODAY: Asked if he was partly to blame: "None of us have time to look backwards."

Indeed they should! They should also get the Nobel prize, all the Oscars and even more important, they should all be supplied with sufficient protective medical equipment to do their job without fear of dying and hopefully all this protective equipment will be made in Europe and America.

Time to bring all production back!

The Netherlands Recalls 600,000 Chinese Face Masks – Comes After Turkey, Spain, Ukraine, Czech Republic Return Faulty Chinese COVID-19 Test Kits

This is adding insult to injury. The west has become addicted to cheap crap from China... Time to bring production back to Europe and America... like Trump has been trying, despite Democrat and Liberal Media objections!
So it's just the Dems and Liberal Media holding things back?

It has absolutely nothing to to do with the cost of producing these products onshore instead of overseas? People will be more than happy to pay the significantly higher prices for products made here instead of all the cheap chicom stuff they have become accustomed to the last 50+ years?

Well, OK then! Eazy-peazy... Let's git her done!

Then explain to me the reason that America had such a good standard of living when all the factories where still working in the US? I will be happier to pay 2 or 3x more for a well built product built in my country (like before) than buying a cheap Chinese product that breaks down in no time at all.

Besides, all the production we bring back means a lot more people employed, instead of seeing factories closing down and moving to China. They then copy everything, without any need to spend money on R&D. All they need to do is copy (without respecting patents) produce and sell at a cheaper price.

But don't forget one thing... the Chinese are very smart... when they first started producing crap for export their prices were about 1/4 of normal European or American production costs, then they starting rising slowly to 1/3, then 1/2 and presently closer to 2/3 of the price Europe or America can manufacture that product.

As their standard of living rises so does the price of manufacturing and yet the greedy European and especially American multinationals and big companies are just too blinded by big profits and in the meantime the European and American consumers have been brainwashed into saving a few pennies on Chinese crap, most of which they hardly use anyway or it breaks down after a short while, but end up paying fortunes on credit card loans, student loans, car and other insurances, etc. etc.

You bet I want to see factories back even if I have to pay more. I still have a Philips TV, built in Holland, that's 35 years old... and still working, an electric fan built in Portugal 55 years ago... still working... an electric toaster built in Portugal 40 years ago... still working on a daily basis and a 55 year old Radio &record player console (made in Italy) similar to the one on the picture below, that is still working with only one problem... the needle for the record player is a bit damaged and I can no longer find one to substitute it.

I also have a Philips fridge and a Philips dishwater still being used and in perfect working condition... both are 30 years old... with no signs of breaking down yet!

It's really easy to see how much cheaper it turned out buying these products that are still working after all these years, in comparison to anything I get today which are mostly built in China.

Bring back the fucking factories as soon as possible.... let the Chinese build their crap and sell it to Africa and other parts of Asia

There are any number of ways to respond to your post. I could question whether you are really a conservative since you seem to be against capitalism,
Capitalism is an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit. Characteristics central to capitalism include private property, capital accumulation, wage labor, voluntary exchange, a price system and competitive markets. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitalism
But imma give you a pass on that.

Instead, I'm going to go ahead and quote a great man and patriot,
Things change.
You're living in the past, people have changed, society has changed. The hive mindset has changed. Seriously, the world has changed! People's needs, wants, desires and priorities have changed. EVERYTHING has changed!

Today - like it or not - it's all about image/appearance, quantity and cheapness - and speed. "Fashion" and "style" change quickly. People are "too busy" and "too important". They need to have the latest and greatest and they need to have it NOW - but for cheap (the exception being Apple products.) Who cares how long it lasts, I'm going to be buying the latest version in a couple of weeks, months, or years anyway...

We used to revere as heroes and role models those men and women that took charge, took responsibility, accomplished good things, and were humble about what they had accomplished.

Now, instead, our national heroes are the superficial likes of the Kardashians, gangsta rappers and reality TV hosts that have become politicians.

As much as I'm with you about being happy to pay for quality and durability, the new economy -- and a company's stock price -- just like society as a whole, and is now based on planned obsolescence. It's all about the next earnings report! You're sales can't be marginally better, they have to be exponentially better...

Ps. Nice console you have there! Seriously.

Was just checking the Democrat Primary schedule - https://www.270towin.com/2020-election-calendar/

Seems most of it is scratched and there is a Convention in 2 and a half months, mid July.

Still on:
April 7 Wisconsin
April 10 Alaska
April 17 Wyoming
April 26 Puerto Rico

but then:

April 28
Connecticut - rescheduled to later date
Delaware - rescheduled to later date
Maryland - rescheduled to later date
New York - rescheduled to later date
Ohio - still on
Pennsylvania - rescheduled to later date
Rhode Island - rescheduled to later date

ah, most of those just moved to June

You're living in the past,
Here we go again... assuming that you know me... it's always "know all" liberals who think they know me better than me! You don't know me from a bar of soap, yet you say I'm living in the past... WOW! The only people living in the past are some tribes living in the Amazon, in Africa or in Papua New Guinea.

So just because the world has changed why must multinationals and big companies send all their factories to China, causing unemployment back home?

Apple should have been wary of giving all their secrets to China, because very soon the Chinese smart phone makers Huawei, Xiaomi and others will overtake them in sales! All they did was copy Apple's products and the rest is just profit, profit and profit.

Once Apple's sales drop a lot, the Chinese will be totally dominant, will then up their prices and the rest of the world will be dependent on them for this vital technology at prices similar to Apple's. I'm surprised that "Mr. Know it All" Test Case doesn't see these things coming, or not even critical of China's evil role in this pandemic, or the increasing dependence on China for virtually everything.

Again,
Has anyone come up with the idea of sprinkling the whole of Hollywood and Congress with Corona Virus? Just a thought!

Thanks... forgot to mention I still have my first photographic camera, that my parents gave me when I was 10... 60 years ago... A Kodak Brownie Flash B Box camera, made in the USA and in mint condition. Only problem is I'm unable to test it as I'm no longer able to get film for it...

And how would me ranting about it on a domain forum change any of it?

Very expensive as I'd also have to pay shipping + customs duty to get it to Portugal. It could easily cost me about $130 for a roll of 620 film... I'll wait until I win the lottery!

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-here-india-s-poor-flee-cities-in-mass-exodus

Mass migrations and starvation of impoverished women and children, thanks to a lock-down in Delhi that the government claims will "save lives." Right, save one person from Covid-19 at the cost of a dozen people dying from poverty. India is an extreme example, but it's not all that different in the US and elsewhere. The poor and barely getting by people will suffer to, at best, save a few wealthier neighbors.

As though the economy is like a light switch that can be turned off and then on again. While everyone is quick to cry about "saving lives," very few are interested in how many lives will be lost to the lock-downs and their subsequent effects on the economy. It pisses me off.

Yes, there are lots of people that stupid - but there are also people in charge who know full well what they are doing. Training the populace to be good little doggies and lock themselves in their little cages on demand, work hard and give all their money to their masters. What is it, $1200 back to the working class on an extra $12,000 per head in taxes? How generous.

And remember how your governments told you facemasks didn't provide protection? Because lying was easier than explaining that the wanted medical workers to have priority.
