Patch Homes is a home equity finance startup, that is now changing it's name to Noah. They are going to be doing business on Noah.co as another two word .com moves to .co. A couple weeks ago I wrote about GradeSlam (.org) rebranding to Paper.co. A week after Paper.co, AgencyWithin.com moved to the shorter, one word domain name, Within.co. I'm not comfortable with the whole .co thing :unsure:

I don't think Joe Public sees it as an extension in the way it's presented now

and couldn't Columbia still rein it in?

Any non Columbian business that uses a .CO domain has to accept that they are settling for a vanity domain. It might be pretty, but it's not exactly the most practical for general audience use.

US startups who long missed the .com opp should listen up! .Co looks like a typo for the uninitiated and technically stands for Columbia. Why use another country code's name when you can use the great .us of America!
