Does Uniregistry allow to list your domain in their marketplace if it's not with Uniregistry?

I'm going to guess Uniregistry as with most registries won't allow you to list your domain with their marketplace unless it's registered or transferred over to them.

I went thru the motions of signing up for their marketplace got to the point where I'm suppose to add my domain and it seems like I could add domains to their marketplace without having them registered with or transferred over to Uniregistry. but I did not follow thru.

So can I list in their marketplace without the domain being with Uniregistry?

Would ask @Uniregistr but they're closed now.

Thanks in advance.

I've always added my domains via their old platform DomainNameSales.com whether the domain is registered with Uniregistry or not. Even these days I'm adding it that way no matter which registrar it's registered with. But I'm not sure if you can add via Uni Marketplace. Though for me, it adds to Uni Marketplace via DomainNameSales.com

Thanks!

Are there any other sites where we can do this also? Off the top of my head I can't think of any. Like namesilo nope. namecheap nope Epik nope.

Dynadot nope

Godaddy? maybe?

Sedo for sure

Namejet yup

Dropcatch? sure

Afternic yup

I'm trying to get as much exposure as possible at as many marketplaces as possible.

What other ones are out there?

Bido?

Ebay?

FreeMarket?
Flippa?

I feel like I'm missing some.

Of course you can, but it doesn’t have that same retail buyer audience as Godaddy does. It’s still mainly a domainer register, and unless you are pointing your names there, don’t expect an out of the blue sale, unless it’s priced attractive for a wholesale time buyer.

Not sure of any others because I don't list at any of those platforms. I only use Uni, Sedo and Afternic to list all my domains.

Thanks!

do you think when Godaddy merges with Uni that the value of listing with Uni will become obsolete? I mean. would UNi's marketplace survive the transition you think? I don't want to waste my time listing with Uni if it's just eventually going to be "godaddy". I already list on GD.

You been around for a while, you should know Afternic’s fast transfer network gives you exposure to 100 register networks, you get 100 birds with 1 stone so to speak. Of course they are going to merge their sales streams, most likely Uniregistry will be setup for high volume bulk buyers, as it has tools easier to manage bigger portfolios.

yea even though with Afternic you can do all of that. I have read on here some bad happenings with that fast transfer network with domains being "sold" or simply disappearing from their accounts without people knowining. This is why I have hesistated not going with it all this time. I'll probably have to.

That is most likely if you don’t renew by a certain time, or running the name into grace renewal, would cause them to delist it.

oh no that's not what I meant. I think it's more like the domain gets sold or just disappears without them knowing about it from their current registrar.

Yes, I would have hoped they fixed that issue, because sometimes I get listing requests for fast transfers, which I have not started, but I can't imagine if you click that link by accident, even though the domain is in your account, but someone lists it in their afternic account, and you click the fast transfer email, giving them permission to take it out, and someone else gets paid, always been everyone's nightmare scenario.

yea. I've gotten that too. and contacted support and always get some flimsy explanation like you said someone listed it in their afternic account. I don't get how that's possible when it's listed in my account already. aren't there like systems in place to prevent doubles in the system?

also those who did list before. just like with Sedo that delists your domain if the whois on it changes at all like if the domain was deleted.

Sedo is wack, if you watch it closely, for some strange reason I keep getting $20 offers from the same month opened accounts. I actually think someone has designed a bot to query good names, and keep offering $20 on them, keep an eye out for it, all my offers get $20 offers from 03-2020 opened accounts, anytime you counter, same response, instantly close out negotiations.

I have this suspicion of who it is. he's a domainer for sure. long time too. I can see his face in my head right now but can't put a name to it. it's something like

namescorp
or
nvscorp or something

offering me $200 for my domains like he's doing me a favor.

I think a lot of these people are the ones who take those stupid online domainer course that tout you can make money flipping $20 or $200 to $20,000.

it begs the question. who the hell really is selling $20 domains or $200 domains?

Money wasted on a domainer course for sure!

If that is the buyer who you are talking about, is offering you $200 for a domain you own, most likely they have a big buyer on the other end.

Same thing happend to me a while back, but I didn't even respond, and I ended up selling it for 5 figures when another big broker appeared to ask about it also.

yea reminds me when I sold PaladineDrones.com for $7,500 part of me still suspects it sold for more that the buyer had the enduser on the line.

I looked into this, and found a lot of my valuable domains in the in review folder, even ones that afternic asked for a price request on, I don't know how they ended up in there, but they are hidden from searches.

I am wondering if these are names that had inquiries that they put aside, but never put back into the stream.

It's worse than that. There is no 2FA at Afternic and so someone who accesses your account can change the price, then they or their accomplice buy the domain at a super low price and it is gone from your account before you know it.

Also price changes you make at Afternic can take a long time to take effect, possibly months, so if you put up a price and see your new price in the control panel, buyers may see the old price and buy at that low price and you have no comeback because Afternic ToS set no timeframe for price changes taking effect.

Some people choose to enable fast transfer only for low value domains. Also once you enable it, you cannot disable it, even deleting a domain from Afternic and re-listing it does not work - you have to contact their slow support to disable fast transfer on a domain.

All this is covered in the Afternic bugs thread.
