Has this happened to anyone else, first? I bought the domain had the receipt from paypal, had the domain in my acct list with it being active then came back a few days later and find it taken out and someone else owns it because the registrar let someone pick thru my acct and take my domain to have for themselves. I checked with whois on 3/20 when i bought it and said available for purchase, before i went to purchase it. Purchase went thru with paypal, noticed it in my acct list as active and logged out. I went to my acct today and someone had shady like now, removed it from my domain list and put it back in the shopping cart. Why would they do this with a mediocre domain anyway? Why not apricot.com or something. Strange crookedness from businesses that need to be honest. Oh well. Domainer loses everytime i guess.

The domain is just music.holiday go figure?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
if you notice the reg of the day thread on 3/20 i also displayed it there because it said at namesilo that it was active in my acct first.

Had something like "this" happen before. what pisses me off is I can't ever confirm it or prove it. always end up thinking I "thought" I owned it. and check my email inbox and there is no record of it ever having a receipt. I think from this point I should do what you do and use paypal from now on.

Sorry to hear you had this problem (nice name by the way). The domain name shows as available at standard cost at a different registrar when I check just now. A little late, but if you still want it you probably should acquire it (again) before too many read this thread.
Have you asked NameSilo support what happened?
@namesilo

I have had, a few times over the years at different registrars, a name that appeared to register and appear in my account, but then it was taken back. In all cases it was a situation that it was either a controlled country code name or a premium that had missed getting caught. But this appears not to be that situation.

Hope you get it resolved.

Bob

I had a similar experience back in 2013. I thought I hit the jackpot. They let me register it and then about an hour later I got the email.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your recent domain registration order.
The following domain name(s) were not registered because they are currently not available:

plumber. com
emergency. com

It is likely that someone has registered this name within the last 48 hours and that's reason it's still shown as available when you did a search on it. However, it is already taken and you can't register for it anymore. We have refunded you the payment for the above unsuccessful domain name(s), and the refund should be credited back to your credit card/bank account in 5-7 business days.

Simple answer, it is a premium fee domain, namesilos system is not showing that, it should be $40 some dollar per year.

Your registration never connected to the registry, and if it did it bounced, as it is deemed premium.

I had tried it at another registrar and it did not come up premium, but I agree the system is not foolproof as it is a name I would think might be premium.

But there is something strange with this TLD. When I go to TLD-list it shows that NameSilo will let me register it for $5.99 but of all other registrars the cheapest price is $32.00 (not for premium, just for any .holiday). I believe that the wholesale (to registrar) price is $35.50. So how can NameSilo offer such a great rate? We occasionally see better rates in a TLD at a few registrars, but this difference I have not recalled seeing.

you kept an email for seven years?

There seems to be no reason to delete them, don't take up much room. Probably not good security wise tho.
Saved me more than several times over the years when looking for specific things.

I'm guessing that's not the norm?

I still have the email of a domain let expire 2013, that now listed on HugeDomains

@namesilo

<with respect>

Any chance of an update on this any time soon?

@Kristaps @ NameSilo just responded to a very similar incident.regarding attempted .House registrartions failing to process at Namesilo.

Yet, when I was using this thread as am example, I noticed it looks like that the errors reported over a month ago, regarding Music.Holiday still exist to this day.

Maybe you guys forgot about this thread, or forgot to update the pricing on Namesilo?

See screenshots...

The matter above was resolved with the respective user and they were refunded as requested.

With respect to music.holiday, it appears to have been running under an old promo price that we had left on too long. We have now ended that promotion, but if you were able to register the domain under the discounted price, then you get to enjoy.

So you're saying if I had purchased the domain Music.Holiday at the promo price in the screenshot (a day or two ago),

then I would get to enjoy?

By get to enjoy, do you mean I would have been able to keep the domain?

I hope you see, when asking this, my next question is going to be,
what about @The Durfer attempted purchase of this domain on March 22nd, 2020?

Are you saying, you resolved the matter with @The Durfer by issuing him a refund,
but if I were to purchased the domain a day or two ago,
than I would have been able to keep the domain?

I'm just asking to balance the scale: ⚖

I want to mention since this thread is continuing, that namesilo was very kind about the error and refunded me. I consider case closed. Ty.

Yes, by enjoy we mean that you get to have the domain name at the lower price; we made a mistake by leaving the promotion longer than it was intended to run but we will still honour the reduced price on that domain registration.

Premium domains wouldn't process and the domain wouldn't end up in your account if we had an incorrect flag set on it. The fact that you were able to register the domain and it's in your account means that it should be fully operational going forward.

Thank you for the quick response!

I hope @The Durfer was aware of that stance prior to being issued a refund for his March 2020 purchase of Music.Holiday.

Edit:

Just saw @The Durfer response.

Thank you @The Durfer for the update.

I am very glad to see was resolved amicably, and with kindness.

Kudos to @namesilo for professional responses.
