AfterNic still releasing funds or not?

Hi everyone,

I sold a domain for $5000 via AfterNic on 12 March. The domain was pushed to the AfterNic's Dynadot account by 13 March. The funds still haven't been released and the AfterNic support says they "are still working with the buyer to take control of the domain. Once the buyer has confirmed they have ownership we will make sure you schedule a payout."

What if the buyer never accepts the domain in their account? The domain is sold and transferred out of my account, they should release the funds already.

I already messaged @Joe Styler 4 days ago but haven't received a reply.

Let me know if those who recently sold domains via AfterNic received the funds or not.

Thanks.

That has happened to me and I got the domain back without the funds since the buyer never accepted the domain despite having paid for it.

Who got that money? that's a good question but I didn't want to pursue the matter further at that time.

That must suck. I hope the buyer accepts the domain soon.

That was quite some time ago. Never found what happened to that money nor whether the buyer ever came back to ask for their domain.

Godaddy makes every company they buy worse.

Used to be able to call afternic and have decent conversation. Problems were taken care of or an explanation was given.

Hate afternic as much as the next guy
but afternic clearly the #1 aftermarket seller.

Even better than the parent if that’s possible!
i think so since GD kept both brands separate

yeah.. its nasty the time you wait there often..

meanwhile, over at godaddy, they got a brand new system in place whereby you enter auth code yourself, expediate domain transfer which is usually possidble, and basically get paid next day.. assuming buyer doesn't delay payment.

its beautiful thing and its such improvement over how gd worked before.

this is why i always make sure to list direct on gd... first... then afternic... even though I know i can save few mins if i just list afternic.. and then it goes to gd automatically.

gd isn't afternic.. when comes to payment processing.. escrow inhouse.. etc... even though gd owns afternic..

but you know.. still hard to beat afternic exposure across their partners... but that too is only if you got bin prices setup.. which personally I do not. and even if you do..u gotta make sure not to overdo the prices... imo

cheers

probably to make up for Uni leaving dyna expir

Uni names used to dyna expiry, now not sure if will after GD Uni acquisition. Probably not.
either way, seems PB taking Uni’s place there

Took me 7 days for them to say they will tranfer funds from a faast transfer sale...got payment 2 days after that ...Customer gets domain in less then 12 hours BUT we wait 10 + days for payment??? I hate this but at the side if the sale was fraud or anythingn like that they are taking the hit not me

Fortunately the buyer accepted the domain and AfterNic says they will release funds in 1-3 days. Hopefully I will receive the funds in under 10 days.

I will update if anything goes wrong.

Thanks everyone.

I have been asked to send my passport copy and some other information.. I have provided my ID before but after every sale I am asked to do it.

Please log in to the payments section of your account to provide the requested information, which may include any of the following:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Birth
  • Citizenship
  • Nationality
  • Scanned copy of your passport (or similar valid ID)

For some reason I can't find where I have to upload the ID and the information.. Can anyone assist?
