Hi all,

Why can't I delete my direct messages?
If not possibly, what is the reason? No sense.

I worry about organization and this is getting in the way.
I will have to create a new account just for that issue.

Archive messages does not solve.

Thanks.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I noticed that a few weeks ago that you can only archive. I am going to assume its in case there is trouble in a deal the mods can retrieve it. Archive acts the same as delete as far as visually.

I want to delete it completely.

Understood. All I am saying is it makes the inbox clear. I am sure the mods can tell you why.

Hello,

Direct messages could not be deleted before; they could be "Left," but that caused more confusion and problems for members than it helped.

The option you're looking for is to "Mute" the conversation that you want to remove permanently from your inbox. Muting serves the purpose of both leaving permanently and deleting.

Sorry, Bravo. It doesnt.

There were two options; leave permanently, and temporarily. Both "removed" clutter in inbox.
I liked both options, used permanent every now then, and left door open return, most the time.
If you could further elaborate what problems caused, since self-explanatory, worked great.

that'd be great! Thank you.

Please read the guide that we provided; it explains why and it also explains how the new options work.

The old options did not provide any additional benefits compared to the new options. The only difference is that the old options caused confusion and problems (e.g., members could not be added back to a conversation once they've left it permanently and the other conversation participants were not aware that a member left the conversation permanently).

If you think something important is missing, then please explain it to us. Most likely, we will help you to understand why it's not missing.

Thanks.

they were still shown as participants even after leaving. experience this before. agree,

show either way, permanent leave or otherwise

but why not make it so it only shows in convo; “temporary” Remove frm convo if “permanent”

You can keep both functions and only remove member participants from still showing if they only toggled the “leave convo permanently”?

Seems logical unless too difficult rewrite code
