Sorry I want to get something clear

Did someone actually submit Multi/plied.com as a domain he/she chose to liquidate?

No, it was a domain abandoned by a former registrant and which someone picked up on Epik Daily Diamonds for a very modest amount.

The example is mentioned for 3 reasons:

1. To illustrate that action names ending in "ED" are great brandables.

2. To remind folks that a lot of good inventory is going out through our expiry streams, notably NameLiquidate.com and Epik Daily Diamonds.

3. To reinforce that brandables are best sold in isolation. We could never have sold any of these names on BP, SH or BB marketplaces. There is too much noise from competing prospects. SSL Landers stand alone.

There is still plenty of upside in this market as a tremendous number of organizations reposition for the digital economy during what is likely to be an extended quarantine.

Here in Seattle, WA, they are not even sure if the schools will open again in 2020. Think that through and then replicate that logic around the world in terms of understanding the economic ramifications.

Commercial real estate is about to be worth a whole lot less. Online real estate is about to be worth a lot more. I am talking about their relative value, regardless of how badly any currency gets debased.

Hope that helps.

Name: Alloy/ed.com

Sale price; $36,000

Hold time: 15 months

Total cost
: $17

This was a moonshot. The inquiry came inbound from an Epik SSL lander. I asked for $100K and the negotiation took months. For the right buyer, it is $100K. This buyer did not have that. We settled at $36K.

Domains ending with "ed" are popular. They are past participle form of verbs. These domains make great brandables. If folks have them, happy to check them out.

-
what alloyed had going for it is that it is a dictionary word. are the ones that are sought after also dictionary words or would the 'ed' still be sought after even if it didn't technically belong, 'solded' for example?

Where can I find names as good as Multi/plied though? All I see ain't good ( nameliquidate)

I suggest just wait patiently. Those lists update daily. Good stuff comes through and the expiry stream is going to continue to improve as more folks scramble to pay bills. Price-wise, a lot gets picked off at around $69 but I also see lots of good stuff getting $19 or less.

i assume you don't have a public folio site personally, but i'm also going to assume you, as Epik owner and longtime domainer have some amazing inventory of domains.. perhps like Godaddy, you sometimes absorb entire portoflio deals as well... but at same time it was also curious to see that u sometimes also seem to go for lower priced expired names etc. great sales you reported there! i've not been domaining for as long as you, nor do I own any particularly valuable names as 99% of all I own is handregistered... and am stll awaiting my very first 5 figure sale ever! :) nonetheless, i do watch closely all sales from others, as they are learning tools... as is all of namepros. i like the expression you often use "life changing amounts". cheers, all the best!

Some thoughts:

- We have about 10,000 Owned and Operated names, 95+% of which is aged .COM.

- We buy from time to time, usually on contrarian themes.

- We focus on domains with potential for asymmetric returns of 100X or more.

The benefit to our clients is that we are able to fund development, provide high service levels, provide aggressive promos and interest-free loans because of cash flow from operations.

As you might guess, we re-invest everything back into the company, and then some! We doubled the business in 2019. We were projecting to triple the business in 2020. We'll see how COVID impacts that.

V/i/v/a/n/t/e dot co
Sale price: $395
Venue: Afternic (BIN)
Cost: $2.99 (Name.com promo)
Hold time: 6 months

I'm not sure now why I registered this name, I guess I liked the sound of the name, but I never really thought I would sell it. Maybe that is why I kept the price low. Recently I've noticed that it receives some traffic, and I increased the BIN price a bit (~$200 --> $395).
May I ask how do you see traffic on Afternic site for your listed domains?

The domain's name servers were set to Dan.com, not to Afternic, so I could see the traffic.

Got 5 sales here. This one is the best.

Acquisition price <100, hold.time 15 months, overall portfolio around 400

Thanks
Do you forward all your 400 names to Dan?
I have about 400 names also.... but i'm back and forth between Dan and Uniregistry landing pages.

It seems DAN doesn't do big sales... I haven't seen any.

I’ve done several 5 figure sales and plenty of high 4 figure sales with Dan. But everything is listed as BIN, not make offer, so no brokering or negotiation involved for the most part. I guess I’ll give some example sales to keep this relevant. I started using Dan in late 2017, the 3rd sale came in was a 4L name for $25,000. Highest sale on the platform was $45,000 brokered by Reza (the founder) himself.

Sure then its ok to keep it confidential and yourself. So many people trading and they also do not share anything when its confidential.

This thread is for reported completed sales with some helpful data. Just sharing I sold something not going to help anyone. Just sharing as good friend.

Thanks

gta5/es sold for $150 on Sedo on March 23d. Registered expired domain when saw many TLDs taken. ($6.59 at GoDaddy). Hold time ~7 months.

It was set to "make offer", so I got offer for $100, counter offered but buyer came up $50 only. So I accepted offer sending domain into auction (Sedo gives this option, counting this $150 offer as a starting winning bid).
Auction ended with no other bids, so sale went into next stage of payment transaction.
{I thought to wait till I got paid for assurance, but decided to post here now while waiting for payment, just for sharing how it goes(for reader's benefit). Because so far for last couple of days Sedo has been managing to have buyer pay, I feel it may end up with canceled sale.
Even though this domain was registered in September last year, GoDaddy shows it can be unlocked April 20th, I talked to them, they are "working on it". Sedo in its turn is saying that .es extension can be transferred on Registry level (Nic.es) only, so I had to create account with them as well, getting .es "Identifier Number"...
So far still hoping sale goes through. Will update.
P.S. Buyer seems to be from Russia(Sedo's info).
