Are you going to be buying more hyphen .COM domains in late 2019?

Just sold sushi-man.com from an Epik SSL lander for $4200. This is one of Epik's O&O domains. I don't normally report sales but these days we are routinely asking for $10K+ for good hyphen .COM names and seeing sincere engagement.

The great gTLD experiment has been run. I now routinely sell even ccTLD registrants are upgrading from their ccTLD to .COM if they can afford it. I was late to acknowledge it but the risk-reward equation for speculators overwhelmingly favors .COM.

When it comes to hyphenated .COM, SEO is your friend. I recommend to use SSL landers but any SEO lander will probably do the trick to drive inquiries.

I happen to think that sometimes hyphenated domain names can look better than non-hyphenated (and another) domain names.

I agree with this point of view. There are many instances where end-users would have been better of with the hyphenated alternative.

Whorepresents.com misreads as WhorePresents.com, but should be Who-Represents.com
Penisland.net misreads as PenisLand.net, but should be Pen-Island.net
Expertsexchange.com misreads as ExpertSexChange.com, but should be Experts-Exchange.com
Therapistinabox.com misreads as TheRapistInABox.com, but should be Therapist-In-A-Box.com
Teacherstalking.org misreads as TeacherStalking.org, but should be Teachers-Talking.org

There are countless examples floating around.

Drone-Mapping is nice one

Thank you. I certainly see many uses for it. My personal favorite would have to be Reservaroo.com. There is definitely huge potential with that for me and maybe it is something that I could develop. Reserva is also Spanish for reservation so that might have potential too.

I agree with Rob. I have had success with hyphenated names since day one - about 18 years ago. Kind of under the radar - nothing more than $1k, but easy sells. And when you pick them up at $5, they are nice. I sold BBQ-Ribs.com for $1k several years ago. Then saw it back on aftermarket a couple years later and picked it up again for $5. And sold it AGAIN. Rinse and repeat.

Bitcoin-Labs

I now have:

Bitcoin-Lab(s).com

I do not own many hyphen domains, but I see value here -- especially with both the singular & plural.

www. You-Dont-Own.Me

Well, actually I do. This is one of the few Dot.Me domain names that I have actually owned for more than an hour.

I also have www. Lean-On.Me and www. Me-Me.Me

And then in a fit of madness I just had to have:

wwwmememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememe.me

For one brief moment in time I registered and paid for and had in my registry account the following:

www. Mr.Me
www. Best.Me
www. Run.Me
www. Now.Me

However, these premium domain names were snatched away from me as they should never been sold to just anybody. You see, they are reserved, contrary to all the publicity for those that can afford to pay the premium price and not just a registration fee.

It would have been easier to apply and be accepted for Astronaut Training with N.A.S.A than to get one of the premium domain names.

Needless to say, my registry registrations have been cancelled and the money taken is to be refunded.

So technically, I did Own.me for a short while and now I don't so I guess in the end www. You-Dont-Own.Me unless you are someone rather than no one.

This business stinks sometimes.

It's always about mememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememememe

Regards.
