I posted an article this morning discussing why some people might spend more money on domain names during this period of uncertainty and why some people might spend less money: https://domaininvesting.com/is-the-coronavirus-impacting-your-spending-on-domain-names/

I also posted a poll on Twitter in conjunction with my article. I am interested to understand how people's spending, at least in the shorter term, will be impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak.

I think there may be some buying opportunities...anytime there is a market drop, offloading is likely to occur....should see some changes soon if the spread is not contained.

Twitter is somewhere I don't visit, but if you insert a poll here I would be happy to vote.

Good post on an important topic @EJS . I voted no change. I worry that a huge economic downturn, which this week certainly seemed to signal, may with a delay impact the domain market. But in the long term, I think both economic markets and domain will recover.

An interesting point is that does this have a lingering impact on which niches may do well. For example, I heard an interview with an online distance learning company who said they have already seen big jump in learning English online, as some trips to foreign countries cancelled. They anticipate that online education services will stay higher after epidemic is over.

I wonder if some other areas, like travel, may see a downturn that will also persist.

If we could look to previous outbreaks, ie SARS, we might project what lies ahead for Covid-19 and its effects on spending.

When folks are forced to stay home more often out of safety for themselves and family, they might pull non-tangible investments to go purchase survival/emergency means for long-term bunkering. At the same time, when we're at home with an internet connection, our fingers tend to get itchy and curious.

Personally, unless I actually caught the virus, my domain investing would not be impacted.

Bought a few domains related to CoViD-19 protection.

Online education and business industry will be stably boosting even post outbreak imo.

Very doubtful unless i get the virus, even at that, I would recover and keep plugging away.

I'm seeing a lot of panic selling not only in web properties but offline too. I guess its the perfect time to invest more, especially in assets such as premium domain names and / or real estate properties.
