Just to get away from all the silliness here, let's talk about the eventual collapse of the USA.
I wonder why it is that people such as JB here think that sort of talk is scare-mongering or drama-queening. To me, the burden of proof should be on the other side. I can't think of a single
unrivaled civilization that didn't collapse under the weight of oppressive taxes and regulations, decay, and corruption. It's like a fact of nature, not that different from saying all people will eventually die. All large civilizations collapse under their own weight - China, Rome, Persia, Great Britain.... It is simply common sense that the US will follow the same path - and I think it is already well along that path. Why is this so hard to accept for many?
I think the US might get a few breaks along the way, but the course will not change all that much. And I am not saying it will disappear (China, the UK, etc. are still around - but shadows of their former glory days.)
I can see disagreeing how far along the path the US is, but not on the eventual destination. Can anyone make the case that he US will be the first such civilization in history not to collapse? What evidence ya got?
