I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I should have started this as a separate comment so it didn't get overlooked.

Can anyone recommend decent Email services that works with your own domain? Preferably cheap/free for a basic account with the option to upgrade for a fee? Thx!

I saw it, but unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions. I pay for email service and/or use my own server(s).

Count me in, if it's about $50 for 6 months.

Me too. I think this is a fair price and long enough for everyone, including @DomainRecap , to test drive the value and level of effort

Anyone want to start a running subscription sign-up list in here (adding new names and reposting with each new member), as I think me running it wouldn't be right.

I'm just a bystander at this point bowing to the unruly mob. :xf.grin:

:xf.eek::xf.grin:

Just to clarify...Would it be similar to what I suggested..
Subscribers get the list the night before and the leftovers would be posted for all after the TBR?
Or did you have something different in mind?

Not trying to complicate you life @DomainRecap ....someone suggested it and some of us are interested. Don’t want you to feel pressured here.
We all appreciate your contributions as they are now for sure(y)

Here's exactly how I envision it and it's pretty close:

1) Subscribers get the list the night before.
2) I post the TBR leftovers for everyone.
3) I also post a TBR article *after* the run for Google search results and to display what you get for the subscription.

No pressure, I just want to make sure there are enough "interested parties" to make a 6-month run of it, otherwise you can see how it wouldn't be worthwhile to try it and just "hope for subscribers".

You would need a small base to start.

Looks like I'm in the club now, got 2 lowball min-offers at GoDaddy. One for a LLLL.com and one for a .CA that I picked up in a TBR a few weeks ago

For the .CA, it's still locked down at the registrar for another 4 weeks. Assuming this offer turns into something legit, how would you navigate around the lock issue with the buyer? I'll be asking a premium price (4 figures), so kind of hard to tell the buyer they won't be able to move it to their registrar of choice for weeks. Also, it's a TBR name, but if the buyer thinks it's a new reg how would I go about justifying the price?

This isn't my first rodeo, but it's my first time doing this at GoDaddy (or any marketplace) during a 60-lock so this is sort of new territory for me not dealing directly with the buyer

Counter high and leave a message that this is a premium TBR domain that you recently won and as such, still has a 60-day lock on it that ends on XXX-NN.

I just got email notices this morning that 2 lowballers have countered to low 3-digits. Now if I can just get them up one more digit I'm cool. :xf.cool:

As per the above 3-digit offers, I just discovered that I also had a straight 3-digit offer on one of the domains that also got a counter, so there are actually 3 offers and 2 potential buyers for one domain. That's pretty wild.

I hope at least one of them isn't a hobo.

Damn, the GoDaddy system really isn't made for this, as there is no link between the different buyers/offers and the counters I just made.

sold a .co that was under lock 7 weeks ago on gd. when i informed them of the lock they said the sale is still in place and that they will contact me to initiate the transfer.

I have had sales with domains at NamesPro.ca with domains I transferred in a week before and I believe they have the same lock.
At NamesPro when I do the push with them ...the push goes through to the new owners NamesPro account and they can manage the nameservers etc.
And when the hold is up they automatically do the change of registrant. Easy Peasy.
Not sure if it’s the same with a new reg but I would think so.
Might be worth asking them.
GoDaddy might do the same thing if it is a push

You can count me in as well @DomainRecap.

In other news, did anyone else notice the action happening with the .TO extension?

According to namebio, the extension has had 100+ "sales" already this year.

I'm pretty sure these "sales" are mainly just backorder acquisitions, which are then being reported, but does anyone else know more about this?

Man, not sure what's happening with notifications here on NPs. I didn't receive any for the last 10 posts people made. Something glitchy going on.

I will double check to make sure I'm not mistaken, but my friend told me that Godaddy won't cancel the sale and will make the buyer wait whatever time is necessary. The same friend told me that places like Sedo would cancel the sale tho.

Not sure. It's an extension worth avoiding in my opinion, though. Not worth the registration premium and unambitious sales prices for even the most premium names.

I sold Whisky // to for mid - $XXX last year. My one and only .to name. An early, naïve registration. Will not be re-entering the realm of .to.

I've seen quite a few Toronto-based companies using this extension.

My friend had this to say in a case where he was buying a domain on GD that was under a 60-day lock at another registrar:

"I’m not sure GoDaddy’s exact policy on that situation. I bought a domain that was under 60 day lock and GoDaddy said I needed to wait like 5 weeks for transfer or receive it at other register. Once he pushed it to me at other register I just confirmed to GoDaddy I received it and we were done. Not sure if I could have cancelled the transaction tho, I’m assuming there would always be a risk that buyer tries to bail."

I'm a bit surprised GD allowed for a push at another registrar to close a deal made on GD, but i guess it's nice to have options. That said, it would seem like this option comes with a bit of risk in the event GD had no way in verifying the push was to the correct party/buyer.

Hey everybody. Below is the list of people who confirmed they would sign up for a paid subscription of Domain Recap's weekly TBR list, which will also include early access to the TBR Leftovers & Results.

If anyone wants to add their name to the list, please let me know and I'll add you. The idea is to see how many people here are willing to commit in order to know whether it's worth moving forward with. You can also contact me should you want your name removed. Thanks!

I believe it will be the “only” access to the DomainRecap’s TBR list (if it goes forward). Others will get the “TBR leftovers list” after the TBR run ....if I’m not mistaken.

...and it is priced at $50 for 6 months I believe

Thanks! He's considering giving subscribers early access to the leftover lists, even if it's just for a few hours. That way paying members have a better chance at picking up leftovers (i.e. before the non-paying visitors have a go at them). I'm actually the one who recommended it to him but nothing is concrete and im sure he's open to hear what others think.

Or $40 for 6 months for all early sign-ons like you special people. :xf.grin:

We get 10 members and we can move ahead at the beginning of the forthcoming month.
