Here are two of my top learnings in the field of domaining:

1) Experiment a lot. You need to find out what is the right investment plan for you. Whether you do good in geo-domain names or you are someone who's excellent at drop catch or brandables or whatever that is! You need to explore and find that one thing which works for you.

2) Patience is the key. You need to have patience in this line of business. But at the same time, you need to be smart to understand when to change your strategy. Because sometimes, if you don't, you may end up accepting a low ball offer out of desperation for a sale. And sometimes, you may let go off an amazing offer because you got too optimistic.
It is about finding that balance!

Good morning.

Firstly...know your place. By this I mean know where you fit into the domain name industry. You can be a newbie with no money or a newbie with bags of money. These two newbies will never be competing in the same arena and as one moves forward on their journey so too will the other newbie.

Secondly...have a plan before you start and if your plan is thought out carefully and strategically in the first place you will not need to deviate from this plan. Once your plan has been successfully carried out you will need to make a completely new plan. It is no good just thinking that you can modify your original plan. That was your plan to get you started.

You new plan is for when you are an established domain name investor. It is likely at this secondary stage that you have figured out what works for you and you only. You are after all, only competing with yourself. You have probably made some sales and made some money.

It is now time to decide. Cash in your chips or let them ride. This is why you need a new plan. You will now not be in the same arena as you were when you started.

The stakes become higher and the rewards are harder to come by. Your original plan is now defunct.

Every day is a new day and you must rise to face the challenge. No one else will do that for you.

Evolution not revolution.

1. Timing is everything.

2. You need to know when to say, "No!" and when to say, "Yes!".

know and except your domaining aptitude, work within your own and not others.

extend yourself beyond just the domain name and branch out into the industry
