What’s your name?
A: Ozer Tayiz

Where do you live?
A: I now live in Quito, Ecuador. I am originally from Turkey.

What’s your level of expertise?
novice, intermediate, expert, etc.
A: I am new to domaining.

How much experience do you have in the domain industry?
years, experience, etc.
A: 0. I have just started. Bought 2 domain names from Gene Pimentel's namesnagger fb group today.

What would you like to specifically learn first?
how to buy a domain, domain history, best selling strategies, government policies, etc.
A: How to sell my domains quickly. I'm going more for fast sales at high quantity, at least at first.

Are you currently working on any projects or ideas?
A: yes, just bought kitchensphoenix.com and weddingsknoxville.com and I hope to flip them fast.

What are your short-term goals in the next year?
A: I'm thinking domaining can be my bread and butter income generator. Low risk, low barrier of entry, high upward potential. And doesn't take tons of time either. Maybe $2-5K per month.

What are your long-term goals in the next 5 years?
A: In 5 years, I want to build a residual passive income from another business model, and use the domaining income for seed money for those projects

What was your first domain you purchased?
A: For domaining, kitchensphoenix.com and weddingsknoxville.com . Had several others for personal projects, not for domaining.

Why did you start investing in domains? Please tell us the story.

Welcome to NP @otayiz !
You are now living in one of the most beautiful countries in the world :)
Best of luck! Btw, since you will have to become familiar with an extra language (Spanish) - this will definitely help... English, Turkish, Spanish... - more languages = better for domaining!

(how much are you asking for knoxville and where did you post it for sale?)

Funny you ask, because I have put that wedding domain on an auction here on namepros.

I'm a beginning too... what is "micro-profit strategy" so I can know if I'm doing that or not.. Thank you.

I think it refers to going for low price sales, frequently. Like selling many domains for $100-200 rather than $1000+

That makes sense. I will think about that. Thank you.

Welcome, word of advise about "Name Snagger" and the names being sold. There are some outright TM violations that will cost you thousands if sued. Don't listen to charlatans that try to sell you lists. You can find your own using names like ExpiredDomains.net, and don't buy TM domains!

Check this utter nonsense...

Thank you for your concern, but I already stay away from trademarks in domain names. And there is a difference between a list of 100,000 domain names %99.99 of which are not even worth hand register fees, and a short list of hand-picked domain names all of which are statistically worth $500+ .

And I wouldn't call Gene a charlatan either. He has been in the domaining business for 15-20 years now. And he warns against trademarks in domains himself.

Believe me, if he was making consistent sales, he would not need to peddle a $5 a month list. Learning to read the list is part of the domaining advantage. Reading someone else's list amounts to reading something they didn't want to buy for themselves. Most of the sample domains I saw, including yours, are not worth $500 at all. Sorry.

There was one true contributor in this forum that would post beautiful lists, but he no longer does so. And he did it for free.

Gene Pimentel is a member of this forum too, although he is not active lately.

Just by looking at the numbers of posts he made, and likes he received, on this forum alone, I'd say he looks like someone who knows his stuff.

I won't speak for him. All I am going to say is, value is subjective, and all it takes is one person, the buyer to see $500 value in the domain, for the domain to be worth $500+ . If you don't see $500 value in those domains, they are not valuable TO YOU. But you cannot speak for anyone else.

For what it is worth, both my domains have godaddy-estibot appraisals of $1000+ . "Statistical value", I think, is calculated automatically somehow, like those automated appraisals. Although I don't know the full details how those lists are selected.

Of course, no automated algorithm can ever account for subjective human evaluation. What's worth $0 to you may be worth $10,000+ to someone else. That's impossible to calculate.

re: 'Gene peddling $5 month': I think, he has a lot of followers and IF (don't know of course) he has 1000 subscribing a month he's not only getting decent pocket change monthly (with low if no expense) he's getting some satisfaction (don't know of course) getting others started which if true is satisfying.
