Meanwhile...

One person dies every 37 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease.

Over 37,000 people die in road crashes each year in the USA. (101 people per day).

An additional 2.35 million are injured or disabled.

In 2017, 39,773 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC (108 people per day).

I still appreciate and very much respect Rick's delay, and yes I attended the last meeting and will go to the next.

Just curious what any of that has to do with an unfolding -worldwide- spread of a virus. It may or may not become an issue in the US? Who knows, but Italy is now quarantining some towns - flights (huge$$$ loss) are being restricted in some countries.

How many people caught cardiovascular disease because of being sneezed on?

Hopefully @Rick Schwartz will update us in this thread and/or start another. I missed the Austin meet up and was looking forward to making it to Asheville this year. Hopefully this thing (covid) will die out soon,

Not because of being sneezed on. Those diseases are developed slowly in time, due to overweight, smoking, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle...
It was just a comparison. Just to remark that we could do more to prevent other fatalities, much bigger in terms of deceases than the covid.
Anyway I agree, that Rick has done the right thing, delaying the conference.
1 case of covid in the city and you can get a full quarantine...
