GoDaddy domain stuck in limbo

I tired to transfer a domain out of Godaddy which failed. The new registrar said it was rejected by Godaddy (for no reason i will add as the domain met all transfer requirements, was unlocked, valid auth code, and I approved it at Godaddy). But Godaddy still shows the transfer as pending with no option to cancel it, so I cannot try to restart the transfer. It still works but now I have no way to even reattempt the transfer, and Godaddy support seemed clueless they said even their advanced technical support couldn't cancel it on their end.

So now not only did my initial transfer attempt fail, I cannot even reattempt the transfer because Godaddy thinks there is still a pending transfer.

Did you wait 60 days before transferring the name after it was put into your GD acc?
(added via closeouts/auction/whatever)

Be honest. even after “approve” they will revert back and block transfer cite “ICANN 60 policy.

It’s a trick; i remembwr mass transfering all my names to epik (all checks where “checked” including registrar OK

then it was blocked... by Godaddy

No 60 day lock.

So.. no? did you wait 60 days in that hell Y/N?
It will show “everything ok” “registrar OK”
then start transf; REJECTED BY REGISTRAR
GD rejects; seems to be the only one cares, telling you guys; only ones these dirty tricks...

i hate despise waiting 60 days, wait 60 days,
promise you they wont reject it (if GD rejects)
dont trust the initial “regidtrar ok checks” it will get rejected if under 60 days cuz GD worst

I'm always very systematic about waiting for day 61 to unlock and request the auth code.

Godaddy is holding domains with values of about $2K+ into a 5 day pending transfer.

It does have a GD value of about $4,000 but the new registrar says it was outright rejected by Godaddy.

It will be from “[email protected]

Title the email; the domain u want move

That's just insane. yet more anti-competitive crap from Godaddy, this time masquerading as "security". I for one use a unique really long and complex randomly generated password for my account stored in my password manager plus a hardware security key to access my account. Someone other than me would be hard pressed to gain access to my account to disable the lock and get the auth code. If they really cared about security the "value" of the domain wouldn't matter and instead they would look at real indicators of compromise, if there was a recent request to rest the password, lack of 2 factor, recent change in account details, login from an unusual IP address inconsistent with previous logins, ect. Then if they see enough of red flags like that then actually call the customer.

But that's good to know that there's that extra step in the future. I'll probably just write a simple script to automatically send them a predefined email in the future to use when I start the transfer process.

Unfortunately I still don't know how to get them to recognize the transfer failed so it can go back to a status where I can start over again.

the system didnt work, no matter how many times i clicked “approve transfer” under setting like EVERY TIME; was there, wouldnt go away “approve” button GD transfer settings wouldnt go away, kept clicki.. clicking,. trolls mine was.

maybe how they “trap” your domain different.
it looked like a bug... but they knew what doing and after finally getting to someone knows, he gave me details reply email.. try nothing lose.

Only do this for valuable domains; only 1 to me
“for security purposes” im sure excuse u’ll get

Only other thing I can think of off they said it was rejected by new register, and not on a 60 day lock is to make sure privacy is off. Otherwise if it is $4ak value, and you have no other options, it’s on a 5 day lock. If transfer has failed your status would not be transfer pending.

I don't pay for Godaddy's privacy especially since I don't keep domains there longer than I have to.

The real problem is the new registrar says it was rejected, but Godaddy says its still pending. Meanwhile the whois does not show any pending transfer status..

Godaddy says it’s pending... cuz it’s frozen.
Is the “approve” transfer button there? check it under “transfers” in GD settings. If so, bingo.

Good luck, let us know what it was, cuz >$4K is valuable and makes me lean towards that.

Godaddy gives me the option to approve or resend the email, but the cancel button is disabled. I emailed transferverify and they said they canceled the transfer on their end, but it is still showing as pending in my account. O_o:banghead:

Remember, @wwwweb, said it takes 5 days.
It should done 5 days, if longer, then have a problem.

Thank you for the subsequent update!
I often find myself using O_o:banghead: when dealing Godaddy.
The worst part, after sent the email? Like nothing fixed, all can do; wait

Still following thread, and hope 2/29/2020 domain is successfully transferred!

Another 5 days? At this point there is literally 0 chance the transfer will go though without me restarting it, which I cannot do because Nodaddy Godaddy already says there is a transfer pending which isn't, because they already rejected it after 5 days. Now it's just a matter of getting their control panel to catch up with the real status of the domain, which should've be done once I emailed them but clearly not.

I've long questioned why anyone would choose Godaddy as their registrar, especially domainers. Now I am questioning my own sanity for even dealing with them to buy from Godaddy auctions, idk if its worth the hassle tbh.

#1 reason, wonder, what would've done, if i didnt sign up for NP.

Thank you, NP.

After yet another hour long chat with Godaddy support, the transfer has been cleared and the domain is back in my Godaddy account for try #2. This time I will be emailing transferverify once the transfer is initiated, so hopefully it won't get stuck again.

It doesn't help much, takes them 2 days to respond, and 1-2 days to respond to your verification, they have to initiate it sorry to say.

Thanks! i want to know if required receive the email from "transferverify" before you email it.

If you can bypass waiting for this email, even if it still takes 5 days, an improvement

Please keep us updated,
