Thanks you for sharing this, as this is the 2nd reported (FAILED INSTALLMENT)plan reported on dan here. Which I recently raised concern over their new (60 months installments with added Interest ) and felt many people would flop on these. I know This isn’t always the case, still worth nothing. Thanks for sharing, sorry to hear this.

Anytime I do installment, I try to get a better deposit, and lower payments on the back end, that way when they default it doesn't sting as bad. A good portion of domain payment plans default, because most of the time they don't get their idea off the ground.

It was sold in installments before DAN changed their "Domain financing 2.0". I can't blame DAN's system for this failed payment. Actually the buyer was very rude in the negotiations and, somehow, I felt that something could go wrong with this guy. Anyway, I recovered the domain and the buyer has lost the paid money.

I've sold several domains in installments using DAN and I like it a lot. I know for sure that some of this domains would not have been sold in one payment. Installments help the buyer's decision lowering the psicological barrier. It's not for all domains in a portfolio though. I've segmented my portfolio and I still keep many domains with Efty landers with no BIN.

These things happens with other escrow services as well. It happened to me with a domain I brokered using escrow.com. The buyer paid 10% as a first payment and a couple of installments more. Then he stopped sending the money to escrow. Since it was a low 6 figures domains, the buyer lost around $22K and the domain returned to the owner.

Thanks for sharing the added Info.

That’s 100% percent on the buyer, deff not Dan, I like Dan as I’ve stated in their thread. I’m just
“ weary “ of any installment plans Over 12 months(60 months just seem bonkers +30%) to me, I do not see those completing with added interest is all. Sure the payment plans are great and many will benefit from them. I’m just cautious towards them.

That’s wonderful you’ve done well, and kinda crazy a person/company would just through $22k away like that.

Have you done installments over 12months yet? We’re that successful in completing?

Yes, I have a few in 12 months and others in 24 months. Not completed because I started to use DAN around 6 months ago.
